What we’re about
Welcome to 253 Social Introverts and Extroverts! We are the largest and most active meetup in the Tacoma area! We host a variety of activities regularly, often at least two per week. We are all-inclusive and have members from all backgrounds and ages. Whether you are looking for new friends or just a social night out, this is the place for you!
Member Expectations
As a member above all else we expect you to be respectful of other people. This means respecting people's boundaries and being aware of what consent means in a social setting. We have people of all ages and all backgrounds, and many people have very different ideas of what normal boundaries look like in social settings.
We expect that people respect others personal space (especially physical contact) and boundaries, respect others beliefs and identities, and respect the time, homes, and effort put in by the hosts and organizers. This applies not just to in person events but on the site as well. Continually messaging someone, or inappropriate messages, will get you banned.
We expect you to have read event descriptions, to unRSVP as soon as you know you are unable to attend, and to please ask questions if you are unsure of something, we will not be bothered at all and are here to help.
If you have too many no shows Organizers may move you to not going on waitlisted events. You will have to message the organizer of that event and ask to put back on and assure us to plan to be there.
Paid Events and Refund Policy
There are no refunds for paid events. For exceptional circumstances you can contact the organizer team and we will discuss it.
Kids and pets
Kids and pets are allowed at some events and not allowed at others. If you are unsure, please message the host and be respectful of their answer. The host will write in their description if an event has age/pet restrictions
Organizer Expectations
What you can expect from our organizers is that you can come to any of us with any problem without judgement and listen to you. In person or through a message, we are committed to making the group a safe place for everyone. You can also expect that we will help you with directions if you are lost, we will provide as clear of directions as we can as to where an event is. You can expect us to be on time, and to let you know if we will be late. You can expect us to let you know about event cancellations and changes of plans as soon as possible.
Additional rules
Breaking rules continually, or just once for bad offenses, will result in a ban. Organizers have the final say in bans and do not have an obligation to explain why someone was banned.
No discrimination based on race, sex, religion, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
No harassment over differences of opinion, keep debates civil. Please report harassment, bots, scams, or strange activity, with screenshots to one of the organizers. It is very important that activity be reported so that us as organizers know to be on the lookout for someone.
The Discussion page must be about events or things related to events such as suggestions for events, photos, questions about events

See all- Walk around Titlow Park!Titlow Park, Tacoma, WA
We'll be strolling along the Titlow lagoon and beach on Sunday the 25th at 10am! The trail is ~1.3mi, flat, partly paved / mostly packed dirt, and should take us a ~25min per loop. I'm planning on doing at least two loops myself, but come for as much/little as you like. I'd like to walk along the beach for one of the loops, but there is an alternate path that is easier to walk.
Pet friendly! Please bring your animals so I can pet them. :)
Directions: use any of the parking lots. We'll meet next to the Titlow Lodge, at the "you are here" marker on this map.
- Peninsula Walk & Beach PicnicWar Memorial Park Park & Ride Lot, Tacoma, WA
Come join us for a walk and a beach picnic on Sunday the 8th. We'll stroll through lush green forest, lounge on a sandy beach and watch the boats go by. The trail is only 0.7 miles, but we will be descending ~500 feet to the beach (and then returning the same way). It will be low tide so there will be plenty of room to walk and explore. I plan on hanging out for at least a couple of hours.
Be sure to bring water, sunscreen, any food you'd like, plus something to sit on (I recommend a towel). Just keep in mind you'll need to carry everything back up the hill afterwards. In high school we would sometimes take a cooler down, but it's a huge pain, I recommend sticking to a backpack. I will have some snacks to share.
Please note that this is not an official trail and there are some parts with washouts. The community has maintained it incredibly well, so the harder parts have stairs and ropes for hand holds. As long as you're not mobility challenged it shouldn't pose a problem.
This trail is on the peninsula, towards Gig Harbor, so there will be a toll coming back across the Narrows Bridges. It's $5.50 cash/card for a standard car/truck.
Car Pool
Highly recommend we all car pool. We'll meet at Noon at the bell (underneath the large flag) at War Memorial Park (HERE) next to the Narrows Park & Ride. I will have room for 2 or 3 people and I'm sure we can work out seating once everyone arrives. We'll depart at 12:15. I'll have directions for the drivers and we can try to caravan too.Directions
If you don't want to car pool then you are taking responsibility for getting there. :) The trailhead is HERE, on the corner of 29th St NW and 10th Ave NW. The easiest way is to set your gps for Cottesmore of Life Care (2909 14th Ave NW, Gig Harbor, 98335). After turning onto 29th St NW continue until the road turns 90 degrees to the left and park anywhere near there. I anticipate the group getting here around 10:30 and will post a message when we begin the walk. If you come late, don't worry, the trail is super straightforward and we'll be hanging out near the end on the beach. Hardest part is finding the trailhead, just walk left along the chain link fence to find it.
