What we’re about
This is a group for anyone who'd like to socialise more and make new friends in Abergavenny. It is NOT a dating platform (but if you happen to meet the love of your life, I'd like a wedding invitation, thanks!) We are a diverse bunch aged from 18 to 85 and we welcome all kinds of people from this lovely town and surrounding areas.
We are all social beings, and in need of social contact, company and support from time to time. However, many people experience social isolation and/or anxiety. I hope you will feel comfortable attending any of our events. If you experience any form of social anxiety and you think it would be helpful for me (Jo) to be aware, please drop me a note (in confidence). We can even agree some strategies to help things along, if you like. These might include a Skype introduction first, adding in some structure to the meetup, keeping the group small for that event etc.
PLEASE NOTE: If you attend events your photograph will probably appear on social media. Please let me know in writing (so I can remember!) if you do not want photos of you published!
