What we’re about
Have you walked the Camino de Santiago or are you interested in learning more about it? Then this is the group for you!
Come join us for hikes, gatherings, dinner parties, and other events where you can meet past and future pilgrims! Share your Camino experiences, get tips from those that have walked before, and help bring the magic of the Camino to Philadelphia!
This meetup group is hosted by the Philadelphia Chapter of American Pilgrims on the Camino (APOC). APOC is a national non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the enduring tradition of the Camino by supporting its infrastructure, by gathering pilgrims together, and by providing information and encouragement to past and future pilgrims.

See all- Camino de Santiago training walk on the D&R Canal TowpathLambertville Trading Company, Lambertville, NJ
Please read full description for starting time/parking/restroom info!
Join us for a beautiful, 7-mile walk on the D&R Canal Towpath! We’ll start in Lambertville, NJ and continue on the NJ side of the canal until we reach Stockton; then we’ll cross the bridge to the PA side and walk down to New Hope where we’ll stop for lunch (from New Hope back to Lambertville is only a 10-min walk across the bridge).
This is a great (and totally flat!) loop walk with the chance to walk along the canal, see some wildlife (if we’re lucky we’ll spot some great blue herons!), and cross state lines.
Post-hike lunch will be at Triumph Brewing Company: 400 Union Square Drive, New Hope, PA 18938.

We will meet at the Lambertville Trading Company Coffee Shop: 43 Bridge Street, NJ 08530. We’ll be gathered outside of the coffeeshop but feel free to stop in for a pre-walk coffee!

This walk starts promptly at 9:30! Please consider arriving in Lambertville by 9am, which should give you plenty of time to park, find our meeting spot, buy a coffee/use the restroom. Late arrivals should head north on the towpath and can catch up to the group either along the way or in Stockton where we’ll take a break.
Parking: There is free parking BEHIND the Inn at Lambertville Station. The parking lot closest to the street and in front of the Inn is for the Inn, but if you continue driving towards the back, past the building, you’ll see a lot on the right (down a very slight hill), which is free parking for the Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park (there is a sign). This is recommended!
If you drive a few blocks north or south of Bridge Street there is no metered parking on most residential streets.
Restrooms: Please note that, to my knowledge, there are NO public restrooms in Lambertville open on the weekend, so plan accordingly. We are meeting at a coffee shop, which has a restroom for patrons only. If you want to use the restroom here, please plan to buy a coffee/water/treat for the walk. Otherwise, plan to stop at a gas station/convenience store on your drive to Lambertville. There are public restrooms (nice ones!) at the train station in New Hope (this is an approx 20-min roundtrip walk from/back to Lambertville).
Public restrooms in Stockton, 3.5 miles into the walk. Chance to refill water here as well.
Rain may postpone/cancel the walk; check back here for updates.
This hike is recommended for those seeking to train for the Camino de Santiago in Spain, and for those who are interested in discovering it.
- Day of the Dead Camino Training WalkLaurel Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA
What better way to spend Day of the Dead than a walk through a cemetery?
Join us for a 6-mile walk through Laurel Hill East Cemetery! The walk will mostly be on paved roads throughout the cemetery; there is some uneven terrain, and small, rolling hills. This will be a unique and fun Camino training walk through a historic Philadelphia cemetery with great views, interesting monuments, and some of the city’s notable past citizens (including the famous “Millionaires’ Row”).
Restroom at start/finish, in the cemetery office.
Parking: at the Laurel Hill East Cemetery main entrance (3822 East Ridge Avenue); once inside the cemetery turn right and there should be space to park on the road/slightly on the grass.

After the walk we’ll enjoy fresh brews and food truck fare at Wissahickon Brewing Co: 3705 W. School House Lane (East Falls).
