"I haven't played that since middle school" is probably said most often with the sports Backyard Sports Club provides to the Hampton Roads area. Meet new friend and singles in the area playing we used to play as kids and have a drink at the sponsored bar after a game. This league is built on being social and fun with a new twist to the old past time sport of picnic outings and elementary school field day. Outside of league play, Backyard Sports Club organizes charity tournaments, Bowling, Night, Race Night, and other events. Join the league, join the fun!

Pickleball is a very easy game to learn and you can go from a beginner to an expert very quickly! It’s a very unique game in which everyone can play no matter their age, gender or athletic ability. Our goal is to create a friendly atmosphere where it’s easy for people to meet and have some fun!
This league was created to give people a chance to try something new while meeting new people and having a great time doing it! Our games are on Thursday evenings starting from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at Folkes Stevens Indoor Tennis Center (Old Dominion University) in Norfolk. Registration is $80 for the season but it will go up to $90 after March 1st. The registration includes the following:- Awesome T-Shirts
- 6-7 weeks of game play including a final tournament.
- Invitation to End of Season Party
- Social Hosts and Refs
- Tomfoolery and Bar Specials
This is a SOCIAL league so make sure to bring your team to the sponsor bar after the games for some tomfoolery! The best part is that you DON'T NEED A TEAM to sign up! You can sign up individually, or with a friend, or with a team.

Perhaps your friends play Pickleball. Maybe you’re a tennis or racquetball player looking for a new challenge. If you have a fun-loving attitude and an ounce of athletic ability, then Pickleball is the sport you need to start playing.
In the INTRO TO PICKLEBALL 90-minute Beginner Clinic, you’ll learn how to effectively hit the ball, maintain a rally, keep score, the rules and basic game play. At the end of this clinic, players will have the foundational knowledge and skills to start playing Pickleball. Equipment is provided.

Anyone with any athletic ability can play this game and the rules are very simple to learn. This co-ed adult social league will play on Tuesdays starting on March 18th. Games are between 6:30 and 9:30pm. Sign up individually or bring a group of friends. Early registration is $65 for the season but it will go up to $75 after February 28th. The registration includes the following:
- An official Backyard Sports Club t-shirt.
- At least 8 games.
- Top 8 teams are invited to the tournament.
- Independent umpires for each the game.
- Food and drink specials just for the softball players at the sponsor bar!
- An End-of-the-Season Party.
