What we’re about

We choose a dozen classic books every year and meet monthly to discuss one. Usually the person who suggested a particular book leads the discussion. We usually meet at the downtown Deschutes Public Library in one of the upstairs rooms. Meetings are mostly on the 4th Tuesday, start at 6 PM and end at 8 although currently the library closes at 9.
The people who attend are adults with varied life experiences and enough initiative to read and thoughtfully critique the books.
Coming 2020 books are: The Buddenbrooks, Remains of the Day, Rosenkrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, The Bell Jar, Yu Hua's To Live: A Novel, selections from the Journals of Lewis and Clark, Moliere's The Miser, two from Oscar Wilde The Importance of Being Earnest and the Picture of Dorian Gray
