What we’re about

Let's build a community of friends that travel, and dive, and want to create fun memories together. We'll meet locally, for happy hours, but the emphasis is to travel to exotic destinations, and remote corners of the world, to seek new adventures, and dive. I've been diving all over the world and I have a passion to share travel, adventure, and exciting experiences with new friends, and divers. Every year, we'll include 1-2 trips to the Caribbean, 1 trip to the South Pacific, and some kind of adventure trip with sharks, whales, or more. Please join us and become a part of a true travel and adventure group.

RAJA AMPAT ECO RESORT – PAPUA EXPLORERS DIVE RESORT
Papua Explorers Resort is located in the heart of Raja Ampat. The region is the crown jewel of the Coral Triangle and the epicenter of global marine biodiversity. Located on the northwest tip of the Bird’s Head Peninsula of West Papua. Raja Ampat translates into English as Four Kings and gets its name from a local mythology. It is about four kings that occupy the four big islands: Salawati, Batanta, Waigeo and Misool. As stunning archipelago comprising over 1,500 small islands, it hosts thousands of species some even endemic to the region.

Resort and Accommodation
We constructed our Raja Ampat eco resort using traditional Papuan construction methods and local, natural materials from Raja Ampat. The spacious overwater bungalows are designed to be in perfect harmony with the exotic surrounding, allowing the guests to feel the breeze from the rainforests, enjoy the songs of the tropical birds and soothe their souls with the flutter of the waves.

Our 300 m2, over-the- sea restaurant and lounge is designed to offer a relaxing environment to enjoy various international and local dishes freshly prepared in our restaurant and to unwind and relax between the dives.

After a long day of diving or snorkeling our sundeck and spa on the main jetty is another great place to enjoy the sunset and beautiful tropical scenery of Raja Ampat.

ABOUT CORALIA
Coralia is a liveaboard that is committed to creating sustainable and unforgettable human-nature experiences, while conserving the oceans we cruise in and developing the local communities we work with. As a classic Phinisi it was built in Bira, Sulawesi by the Konjo tribe, who have been building cargo ships for centuries. Blending ancient techniques and wisdom with modern design and safety features, Coralia is one of the few Phinisi equipped with two engines. Coralia’s name comes from the word ‘coral‘ and the Latin ending of ‘-ia’, so ‘Coral-ia‘ means ‘Nation of Corals’.

Accommodations
Our eight spacious cabins, offer modern comfort and style while incorporating traditional details. Each cabin is air-conditioned, non-smoking, and has a spacious private bathroom with warm freshwater showers, towels and hairdryer. Environmentally friendly, natural soap and shower amenities are provided free of charge. In the cabin itself guests will find cozy beds, a sofa, working desk and closet. Our four luxurious master cabins on the main and upper deck additionally feature each a private balcony, sun chair and outside sofa, where guests can indulge in the tropical scenery and never miss a sunrise or sunset. All our cabins are named after coral species – a tribute to the stunning underwater world of Indonesia.

This dive adventure is in two parts, for two full dive weeks; one week on Coralia dive liveaboard (October 16-23), exploring the southern parts of Raja Ampat and Misool, and a second week at Papua Explorers Resort (October 23-30), to explore the northern islands of Raja Ampat. Plus, there are some full day excursions from the resort that are not to be missed.

Hello Friends and Divers,
Wow, it's been almost a full year since we were here last - yes, this is the Yard House, in Lakewood at Colorado Mills, it's close for many and always a fun place to meet. Saturday brings out good crowds, but there are no happy hour specials.

But the truth is, any venue can be great when the right people show up. It's all about great company, good food and drink, and fun stories to share. And, we have just returned from Raja Ampat, so of course, there will new photos to share.

If you're a regular, you'll definitely see some of your friends there. And if you're new to our group, you'll meet great new friends - it starts at our social events, then join a great trip, and have fun in the sun, and under the sea. We hope to build great memories with you.

Please come and join us, and bring your diver and non-diver friends with you.

Jardines de la Reina - Gardens of the Queen
Scuba diving in the Gardens of the Queen in Cuba is one of the global diving hotspots this year. This area has been a marine park for over 20 years and the protection has paid off. Dr David E. Guggenheim, an American marine biologist and senior fellow at the Ocean Foundation in Washington stated that Jardines de la Reina is "the most incredibly well protected and flourishing reef I've ever seen".

Coral reefs are often called "the rainforests of the ocean." They're not just biologically diverse and stunningly beautiful, they're a source of food and income for much of the world's population, and they're in danger.

Scientists estimate that 25 percent of the world's reefs have died off and what's left is at risk. There is, however, one spot in the Caribbean that marine biologists describe as a kind of "under-water Eden," a coral reef largely untouched by man. It's called the Gardens of the Queen.

Diving in Jardines de la Reina is unique due to a collaboration between the government and privately owned Italian company Avalon which holds the licence for Scuba diving in the park, allowing a maximum of 1200 divers per year and granted permits to live in the marine sanctuary on a liveaboard.

Jardines Avalon F II (JAF2) is a 130 foot vessel, with 10 state rooms, that started operating since April 2014. It is air conditioned with private bathrooms. All live aboards are intimate, comfortable and stylishly designed yachts, where each space is created to provide its guests with maximum comfort and safety. The atmosphere was conceived and designed to provide our guests with an experience of a lifetime.

Its overall capacity is 20 passengers and 9 crew members. The design and interior decor give the yacht a touch of intimacy, refinement, a sense of warmth and simplicity. The boat has the perfect balance of substantial exploration capabilities and a unique and noble style. It guarantees all our guests a pleasant, exciting and exclusive voyage through Jardines de la Reina.

Jardines Avalon F II (JAF2) has 10 deluxe cabins, each with ensuite bathrooms. Each room includes air conditioning and heat controls, electricity plugs, as well as storage in drawers. Each room has panoramic windows to enjoy the breathtaking view of the Caribbean beaches.
There is a spacious and comfortable combination lounge, dining room and bar area on the boat deck. In cabins and common areas there are electric sockets available for you to plug in your personal items (220 volts and 110 volts).

Jardines Avalon II's beverages selection includes fruit juices, soft drinks, iced water, iced tea, coffee, and a full bar of beer, wine and spirits.
