What we’re about

This is a social bicycle ride with a few technical aspects. The speed of the ride will be a blistering 10 - 12 mph or faster depending on the group. Actually just imagine the pace of a school speed zone. It's slow! Mountain bikes and hybrids will be the best choice for this ride but ALL TYPES are welcome. If you are a road rider try to borrow a mountain bike for this ride to get the best result. Otherwise there will be access to bike lanes for most of the ride and I hope our pace will be sufficient for you. All types of riders are welcome as well of course. We will be leaving from Tradewinds Park, noodle around Coconut Creek for a bit, and will end up back where we started in Tradewinds Park. During the ride we will be sidewalk surfing for most of the time giving priority and wide access for pedestrians but they will be few on this course. We'll have a short visit with some horses and farm animals. There will be stops planned for "window shopping and sight-seeing". We will loop through Sabal Pines Park where there will be an availability for a bathroom break about halfway through the ride. There will be an option for two "hills" that must be crested and bested, have fun on the declines but be careful. The pack will make that decision together. There may be travel on one dusty street (industrial street) for a short time with access to both a wide sidewalk and bike lanes. There will be 2 or 3 stretches where you may stretch your legs and sprint if you like, we will stop and wait at corners and lights. Near the end of the ride we will break in a scenic area for a short snack-bring something light and quick to munch on. At the end of the ride there will be an optional "victory lap" inside the park to cool down. If this ride is not for you then be kind enough to offer it to someone you think would like it. But just about anybody and everybody can do this ride. Come with us and just have fun being on the bike! Join and become a Courageous Crawler!
