This 3 day SUP Yoga Teacher Training includes the required 1 day WPA Class l certification training and 2 days of paddle board yoga teacher training certification.
Our World Paddle Association Water Safety curriculum includes classroom and on water instruction as part of the water safety education class. This is so powerful for you as a teacher as you get TWO certifications in ONE training.
Registered yoga teachers can add 25 contact hours to their Yoga Alliance registration.
The 3 day training is $679 and includes the WPA Class l training, WPA first year Instructor’s dues, the paddle board and equipment rental, WPA manual, SUP Yoga manual, and 2 certificates as well as a lifetime of fun doing what you love.
The WPA Class I training is the ultimate foundation for all SUP enthusiast and instructors.
The class I training prepares instructors to safely and confidently lead groups on any type of open water. In the training you will improve your own paddle technique and turning skills as well as learn the best techniques of how to instruct others in a SUP class.
You will understand the difference between board styles, proper care, how to repair and confidently transport boards as well as learn boating laws, safety, who has the right of way, and local considerations.
Become able to recognize weather patterns, conditions, wind and tides.
Most importantly, we will cover injury prevention, water safety, and rescue techniques. As well as, learn and demonstrate how to assist yourself and others in a rescue.
You do not want to lead a group on any body of water without this training. It's a must for any SUP teacher!

Our SUP Yoga Teacher Training is lead by Jana Rife E-RYT 500 Yoga Instructor and WPA Class II instructor. She is one of the few in the country that can provide the training and certify others to be a Class I instructor. It's the foundation of our SUP Yoga Teacher Training and what separates us from the others.
A wealth of experience (over 9 years of teaching on the water) and knowledge (multiple certifications on the water) is shared in this training. The details of class preparation, safe postures (asana), sequencing, and a variety of anchoring options will be covered.
The training also prepares you to start a SUP business, if that is your desire.
We will discuss business aspects, class programs, pricing, retreats, networking and marketing. You leave this training confidently knowing how to get your business started ASAP!

All instructors who complete a WPA Water Safety class are also required to complete the following requirements before their WPA website listing and certification can be completed:
CPR/First Aid certificate (must attend a class instructed by an American Heart Association or American Red Cross certified instructor)
Proof of liability insurance (discussed in the training)
80% on certification exam
Class size is limited to allow for individual attention and student instructor interaction. This means you get one on one instruction as well your questions answered on site to make sure you feel confident to go and teach SUP yoga to your people.
Hanalei SUP Yoga founder and instructor, Jana Rife holds an E-RYT 500 hour yoga teacher training certification registered with Yoga Alliance, a level 2 paddle board yoga certification from Lazy Dog Paddle Yoga in Key West, Florida, she is a PaddleFit PRO coach and has a World Paddle Association Class II Instructor Certification.
Jana is also a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP). She is passionate about sharing her knowledge of SUP and yoga in a safe and enjoyable way.
