What we’re about
Each week, District 13 Toastmasters Clubs have Meet-Ups throughout western Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia and parts of Ohio and Maryland that provide opportunities to develop public speaking, communication and leadership skills. Every Toastmasters club provides a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth. Be a guest at any of the Toastmasters Meet-Up locations and learn how the Toastmasters educational program and positive learning environment can help people overcome the fear of public speaking, improve communication skills, and become better leaders at work, home and within our communities.
District 13 Toastmasters has more than 80 clubs throughout western Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia and parts of Ohio and Maryland. Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. Founded in October 1924, Toastmasters International currently has more than 332,000 members in 15,400 clubs in 135 countries. District 13 Toastmasters was founded in 1942. Lift Every Voice provides a welcoming space for people of diverse backgrounds to share our stories and experiences while honing our listening, speaking, and leadership skills. We strive to build the “Beloved Community” of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mahatma Gandhi, where all voices are heard, respected, and celebrated, and where we are all enriched through compassionate listening to others’ points of view.
