We are a group of singles, age 50 and up in the Doylestown, PA area. We started using Meetup in 2010, but were meeting as a group for a few years before that. As such, we have many members that have been here for ten years. There has been some talk about changing the name to Doylestown SIX-O Plus, as the average age of the members has been creeping up.
Our group is a "low impact" Meetup group. We have dinner together once a week, have local travel, go to movies, picnics, and hikes. We are open to all suggestions and ideas for activities we can share. But...if you want to go white water kayaking or double diamond skiing, we are not the group for you!
This is not a "casual hook-up" site or high pressure dating group. We seek to provide a low-stress opportunity for mature singles to meet and befriend other singles their age, expanding their social network and calendar. It is very possible and always a big bonus if, somewhere along the way, romance develops between members. But if that doesn't occur, getting out and having fun is not a bad goal in itself!
We are set up as a private group in order to help keep out spammers and help protect the privacy of members. Joining is not difficult - we only ask that you are 50 or older.
Also, we are a non-profit Meetup group. We do not charge admission for public events, such as going out to a dinner, movie, or free concert. There will be charges when you go to a dance or picnic where some food is provided, but that goes to the organizers of the event, not Doylestown-Five-0 Plus.
