Join park naturalist and avid birder Rob Bergstresser for some Friday morning coffee and birding. We'll enjoy some bird-friendly, certified organic, shade-grown coffee before heading out on the trails. This is the perfect time of year to view some of the breeding songbirds in the park! Participants are encouraged to bring their own binoculars, but a limited number of binoculars are available for loan during the program. *Rain will cancel the program.
We will be meeting at the Environmental Interpretive Center (EIC) for this program.
***Dogs are not allowed on this hike, or any hike that involves viewing birds.Registration is REQUIRED, as group size is limited. Please register each individual attending, separately. The visitor center colonial herb garden is a great learning space for traditional herb gardening. Please, join the volunteers of Evansburg State Park in weeding and tending this interpretive resource.
We'll provide tools and gloves, so grab a trowel and lend a hand!

Summer is right around the corner, and wildflowers are blooming throughout the park! We'll take a leisurely 1-mile walk along the Sawmill Trail and identify a few of the many species of wildflowers that call the park home. We'll also discuss invasive plant species and how they impact our native wildflowers. Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. Rain will cancel the walk.
We will be meeting at the Sawmill Trailhead off of Old Mill Road.
Directions from Beltzville State Park:
Turn left out of the park’s main entrance. Proceed past the Army Corps of Engineers building & go approximately 1 mile. Look for a Big Creek Grange sign on the left. Turn LEFT onto Grange Road. At the bottom of the hill, turn LEFT onto Old Mill Road. You will pass 3 houses on the left. After the last house, turn LEFT into the Sawmill Trail parking lot. PLEASE NOTE - The entrance to the Sawmill Trail parking lot is unmarked. If you proceed over the small bridge, you went TOO FAR!Registration is REQUIRED, as group size is limited. Wildflower Walk - DCNR Calendar of Events - Citizens for Science: Bio-WalkEvansburg State Park, Evansburg, PA

Throughout June, Evansburg will be hosting a BioBlitz project on iNaturalist. For those new to the app, join us for one of this walk, and learn the importance of citizen science.
Please have the iNaturalist app downloaded to your phone before event. This is an hour long hike, which will go over a mile, so wear hiking shoes.
