Welcome to Fawcett Photography Adventures
If you love all things photography, join us and expand your photographic vision as we embark on adventures to learn Landscape, Night, and Milky Way (Astroscape) photography as well as Long exposure, HDR, filter utilization, Photoshop Techniques, and all things related to your camera.
We will be offering a variety of workshops and shoots for photographers of all experience levels. The goal is to create educational, inspiring and unique events to inspire creativity and passion in all attendees. You will get to experience new places, develop new techniques and build friendships with fellow photographers.
Photographers of all skill levels who are looking to improve their skills, find new creative outlets for shooting, or just to connect with a friendly group of people to socialize and talk shop are all welcome to join.

FAWCETT PHOTOGRAPHY
THIS EVENT IS WEATHER DEPENDENT: We will shoot on the one night that provides clear skies (TBD) on one of these dates 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th, or 29th of April, 2025. Training runs from 11:00pm to 1:00am. There is a Maximum of 4 participants and a Minimum of 2 participants for this event.
Follow the link below to purchase your ticket and secure your spot.Dorchester County and surrounding locale is a dark sky area suitable for capturing the Milky Way and Night Sky. This event will take place in an area surrounding Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge.
This workshop for Night Sky capture is geared towards those with an interest in Astro Photography / NightScapes utilizing proper capture technique. You will need a FULL FRAME Sensor digital camera, a wide-angle lens with an aperture of f/2.8 or wider, a cable shutter release, and a sturdy tripod. Information on camera settings for proper capture/exposure for Night Sky will be provided as it relates to your equipment. Our focus will be on the best possible capture of a properly exposed single frame capture with proper focus for pinpoint sharp stars.
Proper dress for this event is a must for areas that may have standing water to include insects typically found in this marsh area.

September is a great time of year to be in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Imagine staying at a prime oceanfront resort, enjoying the incredible weather that September provides, all while enjoying a four-day amazing photography workshop with two well respected professional instructors, Robert Fawcett and David Blecman
THE OUTER BANKS SEPTEMBER 2025 / Workshop Details:
-Geared towards photographers of all skill levels and designed with a simple approach to avoid technical overload.
-Hands on "In Field" shooting with support for decision on camera settings, composition and varied techniques for each outing
-Instruction (Instructors are National Park permit holders, First Aid/CPR certified and Insured)
-We will operate between Nags Head, Pea Island, Manteo, and Currituck with plenty of beautiful daytime scenes in between
-We will capture sunrise, sunset, landscapes by day and capture night scenes that include the stars.
-We will talk about Apps used for methods on planning for shooting under the best quality of light.
-Simplified philosophy and technique utilizing your camera manually on what photography is: ISO f/Stop (aperture) and Shutter.
-Utilizing the above to make confident decisions and control the outcome of your images and vision
-Guidance on the proper camera settings for your DSLR/Mirrorless for Landscapes, Nightscapes using Filters, Long Exposures*, Exposure Blending, Focus Stacking, and Noise Reduction techniques
*at least a 10 stop Neutral Density filter (screw on) is recommended for daytime long exposures. A polarizing filter is also suggested

THE OUTER BANKS - Night Sky Photography Workshop
Workshop Details:
-Geared towards photographers looking to improve their night photography skills with a simple approach to avoid technical overload.
-Hands on "In Field" shooting with support for decision on camera settings, composition and varied capture techniques for each outing
-Hands on classroom post processing techniques tailored to optimize results from your captured images.
-Workflow will include the use of Adobe Cloud Products - Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, and Adobe Camera Raw*
-Workshop will be limited to 6 participants. Small group for better Instruction (Instructor is a National Park permit holder, First Aid / CPR certified and Insured)
-We will operate between Nags Head, Pea Island, Frisco with plenty of beautiful scenes in between
-We will capture sunset, sunrise, nightscapes under the star filled sky.
-Apps will be used for planning to shoot under the best quality of light.
-Post processing will be a Classroom scenario to establish your own workflow on the image capture techniques taught within the course
-BYOL - Bring Your Own Laptop w/Lightroom Classic & Photoshop + external hard drive
-Location / Field / Classroom Photographic Instruction
-Full Frame camera is strongly suggested with a wide angle lens having an aperture of at least f/2.8 or wider

Workshop Cost

-A Beach House will be secured as a hub for the Workshop. *Travel Insurance is highly recommended*
