We have reserved the GROUP CAMPSITE for a meet up in the great outdoors.

We plan to hike, bike and explore all that this multi-use natural area has to offer. The property is interspersed with ponds, wet prairies, cypress domes, pine flatwoods, and remnant Everglades marsh, and provides miles of hiking and equestrian use trails. DuPuis is far from urban areas, and weather permitting, its dark night sky lends itself to excellent stargazing and the most incredible campfires! There is a nature center with interpretive displays, a butterfly garden, and a cypress boardwalk in addition to 22 miles of hiking trails, which includes a segment of the Ocean to Lake spur of the Florida Trail. There is even a fishing pond.

The group site is on the primitive grounds, and camping is free of charge, though donations are welcomed. We will need a minimum number of campers to meet the group site criteria, so PLEASE RSVP with consideration. If we need to update or cancel the permit, we would like to do so with ample notice to the water district manager. Thank you.

Join Camp 305 for their annual 3 night MLK weekend campout. Bring your campervan or tent, kayaks, canoes, bicycles and plan on paddling, hiking, bicycling, campfires, dancing, live music, karaoke, and sharing food/drinks. Bring all necessary camping supplies, food, and drinks. We are staying on a group site on an island. There will be a huge covered Pavillion, BBQ grills, a kitchen with refrigerator. Bathrooms and hot showers. No electricity at group site. No hookups. Cost is $20/person plus firewood.

Come experience Everglades National Park in all of its native glory!

This is a PRIMITIVE CAMP SITE. There is an outhouse available, but... * NO WATER and NO ELECTRIC!

We'll have a unique opportunity to live like the Miccosukee and Seminole who inhabited this region hundreds of years ago. Well... at least for two days.

Saturday morning, we'll head over to Shark Valley for a 15-mile bike ride on their paved, tram trail loop. We will get to the gate at 8:30am and start riding shortly thereafter. There is a per vehicle admission charge, so carpooling is recommended. We'll stop at the mid-point for a quick respite and bite to eat - please pack a lunch or snack, AND WATER - and while we're there, we will ascend the ramp to the observation tower. The tower is the highest elevation in the Everglades and a great opportunity to view the expanse of the glorious natural wonder of the world! The River of Grass!

Weather and trail guide permitting, we plan to trek a bit through Big Cypress National Preserve on Saturday afternoon. It will most likely be a wet, swamp hike, so closed-toe, lace-up footwear is recommended, and hiking poles are strongly encouraged. That evening, we'll return to camp for some fireside festivities and maybe a stop by a local speakeasy for some libations. Joanie's Blue Crab Cafe is also nearby.

PLEASE bring water, sunscreen, and bug spray in addition to your typical camping and outdoor adventure gear.

Bicycles are available for rent at the Shark Valley Visitors Center, but ACT FAST to reserve in advance. They typically have a tendency to sell out, particularly on a holiday weekend. https://www.sharkvalleytramtours.com/event-calendar/

PLEASE NOTE: the camping fee is dependent upon the number of attendees, but it will be nominal. We will update prior to event date.

The South Florida Bluegrass Association is proud to present their 47th Annual Music Festival!!

Set in North Miami's historic Greynolds Park, under beautiful oak trees and along the banks of the Oleta River, this 3-day music event will include many local bands and national acts, and even one artist all the way from England!

Come enjoy three days of amazing bluegrass and folk music at one of the last remaining spots in South Florida that still offers an "old Florida" vibe. Music starts on Friday at 5:00p and ends on Sunday at 7:00p and you are more than welcome to come in on Thursday, and stay through Sunday night, if your schedule allows.

Early bird tickets for the event are $50, for three days, and are available until January 15th. Tent and RV sites* are available and are payable in addition to the event ticket, at a rate of $10/day and $15/day, respectively. This price includes the daily parking fee.

PLEASE NOTE: this is a primitive campground. Access to bath houses and showers may be limited and will most likely be "rustic" at best. Camping is payable at the park, on the day of the event, and campsites will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. We were assured that there will be plenty of space for all and that we would have an opportunity to group together to some extent.
In addition to camping, there may be a few simple cabins available at the park or you can stay in nearby hotel.
