If you love the French language, this group is for you!
Once a month, French speakers and French language lovers gather at the French Institute of Michigan, in Farmington hills to talk about a French movie, sip some wine and share their thoughts about the movie.
Right now please note the meetings are online on zoom! Watch the movie at your convenience before the meeting and then join everyone to discuss it !
This meetup is for all levels of French and the movies all have English subtitles. This is a nice way to start the weekend and to practice your French in a very friendly environment.

Green Tide is a French-Belgian drama thriller directed by Pierre Jolivet and released in 2023. It is adapted from the comic book Green Algae, the Forbidden Story, by Inès Léraud and Pierre Van Hove published in 2019.
After several suspicious deaths, the journalist Inès Léraud decided in 2015 to move to Brittany to investigate the phenomenon of green tides in more depth. She met many people, and realized the extent of the silence surrounding this environmental issue. Indeed, the interests of the agri-food industry are very strong in this region. It relies on the people involved in this fight locally to have it recognized at the national level through its radio reports.All movies are in French subtitled in English!

It was written by Mermoud alongside Salvatore Lista and Anton Likiernik. It had its world premiere at the 76th Locarno Film Festival on 3 August 2023.
Sophie, the daughter of a farming family, struggles to integrate into social life after enrolling in a classe préparatoire aux grandes écoles in Lyon.All movies are in French subtitled in English!
