The Savannah River Group is part of the Georgia Sierra Club ( http://georgia.sierraclub.org/). It is a local group serving residents in Augusta, GA. 5 April, Sat. 9:30am – 1pm. Kayak the Augusta Canal. Beginners welcome! Paddle with us as we go down the Augusta Canal from the Savannah Rapids Pavilion to Lake Olmstead. Shuttle begins at 8:30. Paddle begins at 9:30. If you don’t have a kayak, they are available for rental at Savannah Rapids Kayak Rental. Participants must make their own kayak reservations in advance. Sorry, no inflatable kayaks. Life jackets and whistles are required. Bring water, snack, and sunscreen. We will meet at the Savannah River Pavilion Kayak launch next to the Kayak Rental.
