What we’re about
This is for everyone who wants to explore herbal approaches to health. Each meeting will have a different theme, which might be an exploration of a particular herb, or a particular ailment and its natural treatments, or how to identify and use the medicinal plants growing around us. The meetings will explore the state of scientific knowledge about the week's topics in addition to herbal and ethnobotanical aspects. Meetup members are encouraged to contribute with your own experiences and knowledge, in addition to the structured presentations. I have a B.S. degree from Edinburgh University in biological sciences with honors in botany, and a PhD from Cambridge University in the history of medicine. I teach at New England School of Acupuncture and at Bentley University, and have been studying medicinal herbs for many years.
