Class Description:
An all levels, 45 minute class that begins and ends with a guided meditation or breathwork practice, and focuses on utilizing poses and sequences of poses to help with working through emotions that may stored in the body, bring calm and peace to the whole body, and work to strengthen and mobilize the body. This practice begins and ends with more restorative poses, and builds up to warming and strengthening poses and flows in the middle practice, paying special attention to connecting breath to movement.
Teacher Bio:
Jayde Barber is a yoga teacher with a background in mental health, peer support, and social work, particularly with homeless and underserved youth. Jayde has been practicing yoga since the age of eight, using mindful movement as a powerful tool to manage severe anxiety and panic. Her personal journey with yoga has deeply shaped their understanding of its potential to support emotional regulation and nervous system healing. Recently completing her 200-hour yoga teacher training, Jayde is passionate about sharing accessible, trauma-informed yoga with communities who have historically had less access to these practices. She is especially dedicated to creating inclusive spaces where individuals can explore how yoga supports mental wellness, builds self-awareness, and fosters resilience from the inside out.

Class Description:
This is a thorough class that is open to anyone who already practices yoga. The aim is practice and refinement rather than perfection and ''you are expected to challenge yourself''. The sequence starts with the meridian stretches, arms, side body, front and back body, followed by a rigorous vinyasa flow. There are several opportunities for inversions, and there is time to explore traditional postures or variations of postures that are already within your practice.Teacher Bio:
I am a 300-hour plus yoga teacher with a personal practice for several years. I have traveled and practiced in different cultures and languages. My teaching method draws upon various aspects; I teach Meridian Yoga Therapy, a therapeutic hatha-based sequence, that offers students the opportunity to embody the meridians and learn self-acupressure points within a traditional asana practice.Heal One World is a nonprofit dedicated to providing holistic preventative healthcare services and low or no cost—no one is turned away due to lack of funds. Class description:
Feldenkrais group classes are known as Awareness Through Movement lessons. You can expect a class to last somewhere between 45 and 60 minutes. You might walk, stand, or sit in a chair, although usually, you will lie on the floor in a variety of comfortable positions: either on your back, front, or side. The teacher guides students through a sequence of movements, encouraging them to move with gentle attention within a comfortable range.
You may become aware of unexpected and interesting connections within and between the movements. As you attend to the improving quality of movement, unnecessary muscular tensions throughout the body can be reorganized and released.
The students find their own movement 'solutions' to the movement 'problems' that are posed during the lesson. In this way, the student experiences kinesthetic based learning. Students are often amazed at the quick and clear changes that occur through the neuromuscular re-patterning that happens in an Awareness Through Movement lesson!
These lessons tie directly into functional movements of daily life, such as walking efficiently, safely lifting objects, and improving one’s posture in sitting or standing.
Remember to HAVE FUN. Learning to move with ease and grace may initially feel awkward in learning how to move slowly and with intention but you will improve with practice. Hopefully you will begin to feel small changes in how you sense yourself that filter into your everyday life and make life more enjoyable.
We recommend to do these lessons on a hard surface (floor, ground) with a mat or blanket. This way, you will get the most sensory feedback and nuances than lying on soft surfaces (bed, sofa). Please prepare your space prior to practice. Thank you!
