The Greatness of Ganesh - yoga with Tuesday McNeill
United Reformed Church, First Cross Road, Twickenham TW2 5QA, GBTrue Nature - the Greatness of Ganesh
a series of 9 classes starting Tuesday August 19th 7.30 - 9.00 pmGanesha, the elephant headed God, is loved and revered as the remover of obstacles. Yet he is also the Lord of transitions and the guardian of the threshold. He manifests in the world through qualities such as strength, sweetness, wisdom, insight, focus and playfulness. This gives us the ability to recognise his presence through our thoughts, feelings and actions
Taking this as the inspiration for our practice, we will explore how to remain present to what arises and how to resource ourselves through asana, mudra, mantra and relaxation.

Community Kirtan with Nikki Slade
The Hare and the Moon, 24 The Green, Twickenham, GB# Community Special Chanting event with Nikki Slade – 5th November
Join us for a vibrant Kirtan chanting event with Nikki Slade accompanied by Alys Hennessey In aid of local charities.
Come and chant your hearts out and make a difference to your community.
Chanting cleanses the mind lifts the spirits and opens the heart. It is a powerful way to connect to our inner divine nature and expand the joy within. You dont have to follow a particular tradition or all are welcome. Many say that Kirtan is the easier way to meditate due to having a mantra to repeat accompanied by heartful melody and rhythm. You don’t have to be a singer to chant. Just bring your voice just the way it is and we will go on a journey together. Nikki will accompany the chants with harmonium and drum and we will merge our voices together and experience the bliss of this practice.
When: Wednesday 5th November 2025
Time: 7:30 – 9pm
Fee: There will be a lucky hat with local causes in it. The focus is on local charities only including Twickenham, Richmond, Kingston, Surbiton, Hampton, Barnes, Putney. The one that is picked on the night is where we will make our donation. Suggested donations £10 or what you can afford
£400 was raised last time for St Margarets Church, Putney who feed the homeless. They made 150 Christmas food parcels as a result of our fundraising and were delighted with the donation.
