Ice Age Trail Alliance - Rock and Dane County Chapters

Hopefully enough snow to snowshoe, but if not, just a nice winter hike.

Springfield Hill is a Dane County Park location hosting a 1.6 mile loop segment of the Ice Age Trail being restored to oak savanna and prairie.

Dress for the weather. Hiking poles may be desired as the trail currently could have some icy/slick spots.

No bathroom facilities onsite.

Join us for Super snowshoe trek (or just hike if there’s no snow) on this 2 mile outing. We’ll hike the western portion of the segment up/around the drumlin and use one of the loop trails to return to the parking, so not an out and back. Why is it Super – we’ll it is Super Bowl Sunday. Whether or not the Pack (or if you have some other favorite team) is in the game or not, we’ll be done in plenty of time to get home to change and be ready for the big game.
