Welcome to La Espiguita Volleyball

We hope to see our volleyball club grow and for our members to be excited to play every week!

Please be aware what session you are attending, we have groups for all levels.

"What determines my volleyball level?!". It's hard to really pinpoint what exact level you are with all the different clubs and venues out there. These are the rating categories and descriptions that La Espiguita Volleyball has employed and enforced since 2013 when it all started. Open (Recreational)- A "Recreational" player is a Beginner. A Recreational player should know the basics of volleyball and should have some volleyball experience, but he/she is just beginning to bump, set, and spike. We offer Clinic sessions where we work on fundamentals, take advantage of these sessions and improve your skills!

C - A "C" player is still in the early learning stages of the game but knows the basics. A "C" player knows how to bump, set, and spike and can use all skills during games. "C" players are working on the basics and understand that its okay to make mistakes. You're learning the game, but you understand why we play 3 touches, you understand what the setting position is, and of course, you understand and can make simple rotations on the court. B - A "B" player has mastered all the rules and understand all the positions. To become a "B" player you are are not consistent in all your fundamentals. At this point, all players should know what positions they play best and should be able to adapt to any team they are placed in. We expect players in the level to have the fundamentals almost perfected! B+ - A "B+" player knows where to be on the court at all times when plays are developing (Positioning). A "B+" player has almost mastered positioning. A "B+" player understand how to read a players strength and weakness and is able to communicate with the team. A "B+" player knows how to run a 5-1, a 6-2, and needlessly, a 4-2. These games get very competitive, we do not only look at your understanding of volleyball, but we also look at your strengths and weaknesses.

BB - This level is closed to new players and is for our elite members. La Espiguita holds the right to include or exclude players at our discretion. "BB" players have mastery of all skill sets and are consistent everytime they play. A - This is the highest level that we host in La Espiguita Volleyball. Not only do these players have a mastery of all skill sets, "A" players are can execute and stand out in EVERY POSITION.
