What we’re about
Hamburg GAA is an international mix of people playing the Irish sports hurling, camogie, and Gaelic football. Join any of our meetups and we'll take you through the basics of the sport and give you a chance to try out your new-found skills. We welcome everyone to join us, regardless of sporting history or fitness level. Meet nice people and enjoy great games!

What do I need?
Just bring your sports shoes, sports clothing and plenty of water. For Gaelic football, you will not be allowed to play without a mouthguard/gumshield (Zahn-/Mundschutz).

Hurling has ancient Irish origins and has been played for over 3,000 years. It is known as the 'fastest game on grass'. The objective of the game is for players to use a wooden stick to move a small leather ball up the field and score by striking the ball under or over the opponents' goalposts.
Important
Everyone is welcome but it is required to sign up on a month-by-month basis for a small fee (student discount available) at https://buchung.hochschulsport-hamburg.de/angebote/Sommersemester_2024/_Hurling_und_Camogie.htmlAlso important! :)
- Only those who have registered via the Hochschulsport website will be admitted, with no exceptions.

The meetup is located at the Hochschulsport Hamburg facilities, Turmweg 2, 20148 Hamburg. The closest U-Bahn stop is Hallerstrasse.Walk up the stairs out of the U-Bahn station, continue on past the Vapiano on your left, take the left, continue straight on and then on the right you will find the entrance.

Gaelic football is a form of football derived from traditional Irish ball games. It is played between two teams of 15 players on a rectangular grass pitch. Players move the ball up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing.
A mouthguard/mundschutz is required to take part in Gaelic football training.
