Day 1 – Arrival - Negombo
You will be greeted by an Active Holiday Company representative at the Bandaranaike International Airport and transferred to Negombo where you will check into your hotel. You can enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to relax and unwind, in the evening you can enjoy a stroll through the streets of Negombo and enjoy the many restaurants and bars. Overnight at the hotel. Day 2 – Negombo – 15 km Cycling (2 hours)
Take a short cycle ride on your mountain bike to break in our sturdy mounts for the coming days. Set amongst coconut palms and fishing boats, Negombo/waikkala is a perfect way to start our trip and this evening there should be chance to sample some of the excellent seafood available in this atmospheric fishing town. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon at leisure at the hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel in Negombo. Meals : Breakfast, Dinner.
Day 3 – Negombo – Dambulla 35Km Cycling (5 hours), Dambulla Rock Temple
After breakfast, we cycle to Kurunegala this morning, from where we transfer to Dambulla by vehicle. In the evening you will visit the mysterious cave temple in Dambulla, with five shrines and over hundred sculptures of the Buddha show the impact of Buddhism that has rippled through the country over thousands of years. Check into your hotel for your overnight stay. Meals : Breakfast, Dinner.
Day 4 – Dambulla – Sigiriya - Giritale 40Km (4 hours) Cycling, Sigiriya Rock
After breakfast you have the option of driving or cycling to Sigiriya, where you will ascend the famous Lion Rock, the eighth wonder of the world, built in the 5th century B.C. This 8th wonder of the world displays landscaped gardens, beautiful water gardens, moats and ramparts, twisted steps and stairways and remnants of the Kings palace on top of the rock. From here your will continue to Giritale. You have the option of extending cycling sections. Overnight stay at your hotel in Giritale. Meals : Breakfast, Dinner.
Day 5 – Giritale - Polonnaruwa – Giritale Cycling through Polonnaruwa City
After breakfast start cycle to Polonnaruwa & commence a city tour of Polonnaruwa by bike. Once a flourishing Kingdom well equipped with knowledge, skill and creativity, this ancient city is a proud display of Sri Lanka’s ancestral heritage. The vast reservoir Parakrama Samdhraya bordering the city, is considered to be one of the largest manmade lakes in Sri Lanka. Overnight stay at your hotel in Giritale. Meals : Breakfast, Dinner.
Day 6 – Polonnaruwa - Kandy 40km Cycling (5 hours)
After breakfast, start cycling to Kandy via Knuckles Mountain Range. There is more to Kandy than the tropical tea plantations. The Temple of the Tooth Relic, a UNESCO world heritage site and an important Buddhist Pilgrimage site is located in Kandy. You have the option of extending cycling sections. Overnight stay at Kandy. Meals : Breakfast, Dinner.
Day 7 – Kandy – Airport
Check out from your hotel and transfer to the international airport for your return flight. Meals : Breakfast.
