What we’re about

The Palm Beaches Volleyball Group is first and foremost about getting together and having some fun playing volleyball! We enjoy dining out after games, scheduling social events outside of volleyball, and organized tournaments a few times per year.

This group consists of people of multiple skill levels. We try to respect the rules but overlook minor rule infractions (hand passing on serves etc.) in the efforts to ensure maximum play and enjoyment for all members. This is not the Olympics. The rules we always enforce are for safety (net play). Our goal is primarily fun and exercise.

Basic rules

Lifting the ball is illegal.
You have to hit it with your palm or closed hand, knuckle it or use the top of your hand.
When blocking:
*Blocking contact counts as a hit. You are allowed to touch the ball 2 more times,  3 times in total. (Blocker can touch the ball twice).
*Touching the net by a person is illegal.
*Respect the side of your court, do not interfere underneath the net, it can cause an accident.

When receiving a serve:
*Blocking the ball on the net is not allowed.
*2 hands open is not permitted.
When setting:
*Setting with open hands over the net would not be accepted.

Please check the calendar, we have different days for different levels but hope the more advanced players will share their skills with newbies from time to time.

We look forward to seeing you on the sand!

Thank you! <br>
