What we’re about
This is a group for anyone who likes to sit around with a cup of coffee and discuss a good book. This is intended to be a casual group, with people who enjoy reading and looking to meet new people. We're open to exploring all different genres of literature from fiction to non-fiction, classics to trashy novels and everything in between. We welcome all readers -- you'll need to read a few books and show up to an occasional discussion to stay a member though! Hope to see you soon!

Abington Library Spring Book Sale InfoIn April we'll follow our annual tradition of reading the One Book, One Philadelphia choice. This year it's a powerful memoir written by one of the co-founders of the hip-hop band the Roots, Tariq Trotter. The Upcycled Self chronicles his journey from a turbulent childhood in Philadelphia to becoming a legendary artist. Through vivid storytelling, the author explores themes of resilience, creativity, and personal reinvention, showing how struggles can be transformed into strength. This deeply introspective book is both a testament to survival and an inspiring guide to embracing one's own evolution. The Upcycled Self was published in 2023, is 192 pages long and should be easily available in local libraries or online. The Free Library of Philadelphia is planning a variety of workshops and events that will take place online and throughout the city from April 11th through May 31st. Follow the link below to find out more about the author and upcoming programming. Join us in April to explore Trotter's thoughtful story!
