Cloud computing is changing the way we work, and it is reshaping the way we manage and run companies. From startups to enterprises, it is flattening the competitive landscape by providing almost unlimited scalability and On-Demand resources at moments notice without requiring millions of dollars in CapEX investment in building out such a technology infrastructure.
For many practitioners, Enterprise PaaS and Cloud Computing has captured their fancy and forever changed their way of designing scalable IT solutions. However, there are still many CIOs and senior IT managers who are not very clear on how exactly these resources can be leveraged. While cloud computing is not suitable for every application and every organization, it presents a significant opportunity for IT infrastructure optimization if you effectively leverage these resources for part of your organization's IT infrastructure needs.
It's about time for us Minnesotans to build a local network where we can meet, share, and learn from each other about the risks and benefits of cloud computing, and discuss architectural best practices for achieving optimum results.
Note: Amazon Web Services is one of the leading provider for IaaS and PaaS cloud computing resources, but cloud computing is not limited to Amazon AWS. This group's focus will be on the broader strategies for leveraging cloud computing resources which will obviously account for AWS as a major player in this space. There is also a separate meetup group specifically focused on Amazon AWS.
