See all- Mid-State Trail: An Afternoon of Maintenance and StewardshipJo Hays Vista, Pennsylvania Furnace, PA
The Sierra Club Moshannon Group has joined with the Mid State Trail Association to help maintain the trail from Jo Hayes Vista to Indian Steps. Join us for our early spring trail maintenance on the Mid-State Trail. During our spring walk, we will be looking for any fallen limbs or trees that are crossing the path. We will clear what we can and take note of any fallen trees over the path that would need to be cleared by other means.
There can be a lot of bending down to pick up debris. This is a very rocky ridge trail, so wearing good boots is highly encouraged. This hike has great views, and we will stop at the intersection of the Mid-State Trail and Indian Steps Trail for a snack break. This hike will be about 4 hours long, so please bring plenty of water and snacks. It is an out and back so you please join us even if you cannot stay for the entire time. There is no bathroom on this hike, only the woods.
Bring: Hiking boots, work gloves, backpack with at least 2 L of water and snacks.
