What we’re about
Formed in 2009, Newcastle Gamers is a group of people who gather twice a month to play board and card games.
We meet at 4:30pm on the SECOND and LAST Saturday of each month in Christ Church Hall, near Manors Metro station. We charge £3 a session to cover the venue hire (£2 for unwaged), but your first session is free.
The meetings are friendly and informal, with people picking a game that they want to play, and then seeing if others are also interested in playing it.
You can come for the entire meeting, or just drop by for a couple of hours. New games will be starting throughout the session, so no matter when you arrive you should be able to find something to play without too much waiting around. Things tend to slow down a bit after 10pm, but a few die-hard members can often be found gaming into the early hours.
Don't worry if you don't know the rules for a particular game – there'll usually be somebody happy to explain the basics of each game when you sit down to play.
You don’t need to bring anything with you, the club has a small collection of games, and other members will bring some of their own games with them. There's always a large selection of games to choose from, ranging from brand new releases to tried and tested classics.
