What we’re about
This Nottingham social group is open to all ages and aims to organise a variety of events that appeal to a wide range of interests. If you live in or near Nottingham and want to meet new friends and have some fun days and nights out then do join us. One requirement is everyone uses their real name - first name will do. Photos -We recommend you put a clear picture of yourself on your profile as this will help our hosts spot you at the events. We understand you may not want to include a photo of yourself when you first join, however once you've attended one or two events we do prefer you upload a photo of yourself. Please note - This meet up group is set up for social activity, everyone is responsible for looking after themselves and looking after their own well being. We are NOT responsible for you! Hope to see you at an event soon.

See all- Pub quiz: the Malt CrossMalt Cross, Nottingham
Second visit to the Big Quiz that happens every Monday at the Malt Cross pub on St. James Street. This is a lovely Victorian music hall venue with a fabulous interior, and it's very conveniently located in the city centre just off the Old Market Square. It's owned by the YMCA and 10% of the takings on quiz nights support the work of YMCA Robin Hood Group.
The quiz starts at 7:30 and ends at 9:30; let's gather from 7:00 to find seats, divide into teams and get drinks. The team size limit is 6 and their online booking procedure assumes you are only booking for one team. I've booked one table under my name: can anyone else book a second table please? If so we can expand our attendance to 12. Please note: our table(s) may be upstairs; I have asked them to put "Sociables" on the reservation card.
Entry to the quiz is £1 per person. It's (usually) hosted by Jake who does his own 'crapapella' audio versions of songs in the music round! There is a picture sheet but rather than being a separate picture round it works with the regular questions. And sometimes there's a practical round like recognise this crisp flavour or build a paper aeroplane! The format is otherwise fairly standard with current affairs, history, music and films etc. There is a cash prize for the winning team.
Food is available till 9:00; see menus on their website.
Please only sign up if you know you can make it and truly intend to come; and do please change your RSVP if you can no longer come. We've had a lot of no-shows at previous quiz events, as well as people changing their mind last minute, so I have a new policy on waitlists. If you're in a small waitlist you might as well turn up as you're likely to get a place on a team. Although of course priority has to go to those signed up as Yes. - Board Games at The Heart at RuddingtonThe Heart of Ruddington, Ruddington
Come and join us for some pub grub and board games at The Heart at Ruddington. Previously The Red Heart (Dog friendly venue)
We have reserved room from 7PM that seats around 12-15 people (3 Tables) but the pub isn't that busy on a Monday night and we can quite easily spread to the general seating areas if need be.

And more! - £2 (ish!) Canalhouse Comedy NightCanalhouse, Nottingham
This popular night has been running fortnightly for 14 years and is a great chance to see a mixture of up-and-coming and established acts at a price that won't break the bank. Everyone is friendly and has a good time but it's perfect for new Meetuppers, as it's relaxed and fun without the pressure of having to make small talk all evening. Come on down for your comedy fix!
Website/tickets (£2.00 + 0.20 booking fee)
We'll meet to the left of the downstairs bar as you enter, either standing up or seated, then head upstairs shortly before showtime. Several rows of seats are usually reserved for Meetuppers to sit together.
If you've any questions, just ask in the comments or send me a message – but only after you've thoroughly read the description!
It's best to buy a ticket in advance; online sales stop at 19:00 on the night. Even if it sells out, you should be ok for paying on the door but may have to stand at the back end of the room.
Lastly, please don't sign up unless you're sure you're coming and if for some reason you can't make it, please update your RSVP to Not Going.
