What is better than dining out at some of Tucson's finest restaurants with old friends and new? Maybe enjoying a home cooked POTLUCK meal in each other's homes? When we dine out we choose restaurants with great food, good location and nice happy hour area is a big plus. Sometimes we do just happy hour, sometimes just dinner and sometimes both. Brunches are very popular and we do them more and more frequently. For our dinner parties at home events, the host picks the theme, number of guests and everybody brings a dish to share. We have had slightly formal, sit-down dinners with china for eight or 12 people, and lots of more casual, inside and out events where paper plates are just fine. Past themes have included Greek, Italian, Eastern European, Cuban, Chilean, Canadian, Australian, regional United States...and so many more! Everybody brings a homemade dish, leaving little work for the host. Take out from a nice restaurant or "store bought" is just fine. Most of our home dinners will be on a Saturday night, but not always. Most of our restaurant meals are during the week. Let's not forget weekend brunches! Tucson has some great places to enjoy tasty breakfast foods. Of course, nothing beats a Tucson happy hour. Well-priced drinks and delicious appetizers. We welcome people of all ages, singles and couples, but mostly our group is over 50. Non-cooks are welcome and encouraged to attend our at home dinner parties as well as out restaurant events It is great meeting people that you might otherwise never encounter. We keep our events small so people can meet and mingle and we encourage everyone to suggest a restaurant. This group is for people who love to cook, try new restaurants and socialize. The events will almost always be between eight and 35 people. we have had a number of dinners and brunches in private homes where people can really show off their cooking skills, linger over multi courses and really get to visit. Trying out Tucson's restaurants is lot of fun with a group. Food and fun...what more can I say?
