What we’re about
Robin Hood Meetup is a fun and friendly group full of people who want to meetup for regular activities. If you have just moved to the area and want to meet new people, or are just looking to expand your circle of friends, then this group is for you!
We host a selection of events including; eating out, trips to the cinema/theatre, live music events, local walks, pub quizzes, social drinks, as well as other activities that members suggest.
Events are mainly held within the 'DN' postcode and neighbouring areas, covering Doncaster to North Nottinghamshire, but occasionally venture further afield.
Should you wish to join us simply RSVP to to the events we post. Please keep your RSVP up-to-date, it's only polite and it means the event hosts aren't wasting their time searching for missing people.
Please feel free to use the Discussion Board or Suggest a Meetup feature if there is somewhere you are going, or would like to go to, that you think others may be interested in.
As a group we do not charge a membership fee, but we obviously have to cover the cost of the website. All we ask is that each member makes a voluntary contribution at event they attend to go towards the cost of the website.
Please note that if you attend events, you are responsible for looking after yourself and your own well-being. The group organisers cannot be responsible for you.
Names and Profile Pictures: This group is all about making new friends. To help members identify who is who please sign up using your real name (no aliases) with a clear head shot of you as your profile picture (no pets or cartoons please). There are over 100 members in this group and its hard to recall everyone especially if you are new. A clear profile picture also allows us to be able to identify new members when they attend their first meet up.
Inactive members (those who haven't visited the group page in the past 3 months) will be removed from the group as we'll presume they are no longer interested in attending any of the group events. However, if you are removed and you do want to see upcoming events you are more than welcome to re-join.
No shows: If you fail to show up to a meetup that you have RSVP's to attend you will be marked as a 'no show'. We operate a '3 no shows and you're out' policy.
TERMS AND DISCLAIMER
The purpose of this group is to arrange meetups and social connections to members of the Robin Hood Social - Doncaster Group, any member participating in any such events does so entirely at their own risk. It is not the responsibility of this group's organisers or the event hosts of any event arranged via this Meetup group to check and ensure the suitability of individuals to complete any particular event. It is the responsibility of the individual participating in any event arranged via this group's webpages (Or any other means) to ensure that they are in a fit medical state to do so. By signing up to and attending an event you confirm the following points:
1) You acknowledge that the organisers including hosts of this group do not necessarily hold any formal qualifications or any formal training in relation to any of the events.
2) You agree and acknowledge that this group has no legal duty of care to its members and guests and that its organisers including hosts accept no liability for any accident occurring from, or for any injuries arising out of, participation in this group's activities, including travel to and from an event.
3) Members of this group treat each other with the utmost respect and courtesy. Unkind or inconsiderate behaviour will not be tolerated. Please always address other members, whether in writing or person, in a polite manner. Aggressive or confrontational behaviour is simply unacceptable and will be dealt with swiftly. The organiser reserves the right to remove any comments that go against our group philosophy.
