What we’re about
New group description as of August 2019:
Formerly known as the "Capitola-Aptos Hiking" group, this group has expanded and now includes many activities in addition to hiking. While events will generally be located in the Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay areas, we'll go further afield for some activities. Hikes will vary from easy to more difficult (read the descriptions!) and be on the weekends with occasional mid-week or evening hikes. In addition to hiking, we'll have dinners, bowling, Giants games, winter skiing, etc. (the "& more"!)
I encourage members to message me with ideas. I am also looking for additional event hosts.

This event Is co-hosted with San Jose Midweek Hikers. Please sign up for only one. No need to sign up for both.
Come take a brisk walk along the ocean. We will start at the Santa Cruz Surfer Museum (it’s a lighthouse) and walk past the wharf, along the boardwalk, cross over the San Lorenzo River Railroad Bridge and head out to the Walton Lighthouse. On the way back those who want to have brunch will stop at the Ideal Bar and Grill before returning to our starting point at the Surfer Museum. Those who are not having brunch can walk directly back to the start. The walk without brunch should take about 2 - 2 1/2 hours.

Parking:
Lots C & D are across the street from the museum and are a few minutes walk away. There is also another parking lot just past the museum on the right heading from downtown. Leave plenty of time to find parking. There is also parking at the Surfer Museum.
Bathrooms are located between Lots C & D
Carpooling: Recommended, as lots tends to fill up quickly.
