What we’re about
Let's get all of the South Bay vegans together! One thing I love about the vegan community is how supportive and loving everyone is. A vegan lifestyle is something I am passionate about, for the animals, myself and for our planet. I think it's important we all band together to enjoy each other, all the vegan food and to do what we can to help others join us.
Let's have potlucks to share recipes, check out new vegan restaurants, and veganize menu items at our favorite local spots. We can also have discussions and Q&A meetings for those that may need support in their vegan journey. I'd also love for us to get involved with our community, such as local activism and preparing plant-based meals for the homeless. There are endless options and I am open to suggestions.
I am sure each of you has a story as to how you got here, so let's learn about each other and help others to see every benefit of our amazing lifestyle. The animals need us, the Earth needs us and WE need us!
"Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society's punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way" -Martin Luther King Jr.
I hope to see you all soon! Everyone is welcome, vegans and those that aren't vegan YET! :) We are here to eat, share and spread the love.

Hawthorne, CA 90250 - Spirituality for Animal Advocates & VegansLink visible for attendees
Amidst global human suffering, environmental ecocide, and industrialized abuse of animals, there comes a call for compassionate action. The Compassion Consortium is a spiritual community created to serve the needs of vegans, vegetarians, animal rights activists, and others who care about and advocate for animals and the planet.
The non-sectarian monthly service features interfaith reflection, music, meditation, and a conversation with a special guest. It's open to all sentient beings of any spiritual tradition.
The program is monthly on the third Sunday of each month at 1 pm Pacific / 4 pm Eastern. Attendance at Compassion Consortium events is always free of charge, but registration is required: https://www.compassionconsortium.org/sunday-service.
Hope you can make it.

- Apple Picking at Los Rios Rancho Farm in Oak Glen and lunch at Plant Power!Los Rios Rancho, Yucaipa, CA
We are going one more time to pick apples! For those of you who missed our first apple picking expedition you have another chance to join us on a road trip to Oak Glen (Yucaipa) to pick apples! We will meet at the entrance to Los Rios Rancho at 10:00am and then pick apples for about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Once we are done around 11:30am lets go to Plant Power Fast Food in Redlands around 12:30/1pm.
You can opt to just go for the apple picking or lunch as you so desire- it's totally up to you!
Other things to know: Yes 🍎—the apples at Los Rios Rancho in Oak Glen are certified organic. They grow over 32 varieties of apples, all organically cultivated on their historic farm. Whether you're picking them yourself or buying from their store, you're getting fruit grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. The varieties available will most likely include Gala and Jonathan. Freshly picked apples stay crisp for a long time in the refrigerator! Dogs are not allowed. They will provide bags for the apples.
Because this is a road trip it will be tough to meetup together at the same time but we can try our best by using meetup messages and phones.
