What we’re about
Meet others interested in meditation near you! Learn how to meditate or deepen your current meditation practice. Our weekly meetings are on a drop in basis and we have a really nice group of people attending regularly. Please check out our message board to see our meditation topics in previous weeks.
A trademark of the meditations we emphasize is the ease in which they can be used both “on the cushion” and in our daily lives. Each meeting will include practical, guided meditation, and a talk on how to reduce stress and other problems encountered in daily life and how to increase mental and physical well-being. There will also be plenty of time to discuss the ideas presented.
Although the meditations and talks are based on Kadampa Buddhist philosophy, you don't need to be a Buddhist to enjoy this group. Kadampa Buddhism stresses a spiritual path of individual transformation and to look within ourselves for the inner peace and happiness we seek. Everyone is welcome!
These group meetings are based out of Kadampa Meditation Center New York, located in Glen Spey, NY. For more information visit http://www.kadampanewyork.org
We hope to meet you soon!

Through this course, we will journey step-by-step how to set up a meditation practice. Over thousands of years, Buddhist meditation masters have honed this art of meditation and how to make our limited time in the practice count. This will involve diving into the various preparations to set a good motivation, quieting the mind through breathing meditation, how to sit in a helpful posture, creating a sacred space, and more. By the conclusion, you will feel you have the essential, necessary components to have a meditation practice that really works for you far into the future. Everyone welcome!Class Dates and Topics:
