What we’re about
Meet others interested in meditation near you! Learn how to meditate or deepen your current meditation practice. Our weekly meetings are on a drop in basis and we have a really nice group of people attending regularly. Please check out our message board to see our meditation topics in previous weeks.
A trademark of the meditations we emphasize is the ease in which they can be used both “on the cushion” and in our daily lives. Each meeting will include practical, guided meditation, and a talk on how to reduce stress and other problems encountered in daily life and how to increase mental and physical well-being. There will also be plenty of time to discuss the ideas presented.
Although the meditations and talks are based on Kadampa Buddhist philosophy, you don't need to be a Buddhist to enjoy this group. Kadampa Buddhism stresses a spiritual path of individual transformation and to look within ourselves for the inner peace and happiness we seek. Everyone is welcome!
These group meetings are based out of Kadampa Meditation Center New York, located in Glen Spey, NY. For more information visit http://www.kadampanewyork.org
We hope to meet you soon!

NEW DAY! NEW LOCATION!!
Tuesdays @ 7:00 PM at the Sparta Ambulance Building (across from Cafe Pierrot)Current Series: Stop Worrying, Start Living
It’s time to stop living driven by worry and fear. We become unfree and stuck when we are controlled by worries, like what others think about us, our bank account, our status, and the future. In this series, we will see how to use special meditations on our precious human life, impermanence, and the fundamentals of Buddhism to drop these fears. We will replace them with an energized, clear-headed approach to life, that makes every moment count. This will benefit us, our friends, and community. Everyone welcome!
Class Dates and Topics:
April 1: Finding Encouragement and Optimism
April 8: How to Live in the Present
April 15: Inner Strength, Outer Calm
April 22: Living Intentionally by Understanding Karma
