What we’re about
We are a peer lead group all about Buddhist practice, discussion and inquiry. An open door for Buddhists of all lineages, as well as all who are interested in the teachings of the Buddha.
The principles the Buddha taught 2,500 years ago have led to happier lives for countless human beings, and apply today more than ever to reduce stress and uncertainties, and to provide peace and mental stability. We believe all beings are the same in their desire to be happy and not to suffer needlessly. Buddhism teaches that the mind is the cause of most of our problems, but can eliminate them, as well, through study and meditation.
We invite beginners and experienced Buddhist practitioners to join us in a relaxed atmosphere - with no obligation whatsoever. We only seek happiness, understanding, and compassion for ourselves and for others.
We begin our meetings at 6:30 pm with a 30 minute meditation followed by a dharma talk and group discussion until 8: 00. Please arrive on time. Because of county-imposed security regulations, we must lock the entrance door when our meeting begins.
We recommend that newcomers examine the 4 Noble Truths and the 8-fold Noble Path of the Buddha before attending one of our presentations and discussions, or attend one of our 'Introduction to Buddhism' meetings when announced on this website - and we invite those who are not familiar with meditation to post on our discussion page a request for brief instruction from one of our experienced practitioners, usually before the beginning of a meeting.
Finally, to remain a member you must attend a meeting or visit our Meetup web page at least every 7 months.
SPECIAL NOTE: Until such time that we can meet again in person, we conduct sangha by ZOOM. The room ID and information is listed on each event. In order that we may all receive optimal benefit from these sessions, we kindly ask you follow the following etiquette:
- The room opens 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting. (6:15) for social interaction.
- Meditation starts promptly at 6:30 pm. If you arrive after that time, please meditate until one of the hosts is available to admit you following our group meditation.
- Please keep your audio on mute until asked to unmute by the host.\
- We like to be patient, but please know what you plan to say and make sure your comments are on-topic before addressing the group. Limit your contributions to two minutes
- The meeting ends after the three breaths.

See all- IN-PERSON SANGHA: Movie Night! Inner Worlds Outer Worlds, Part 1Unity of Stuart, Stuart, FL
The Awaken The World Initiative creates films for the awakening of human consciousness and is available for free in over 35 languages. We will be presenting several of these movies for discussion over the next few months.
The first movie, "Inner Worlds Outer Worlds" is divided into four segments. The first segment is about Akasha.
Akasha is the unmanifested, the “nothing” or emptiness that fills the vacuum of space. Saints, sages, yogis, and other seekers who have looked within themselves have come to realize that there is one vibratory source that is the root of all scientific and spiritual investigation. When we realize the one source of all spiritual experience, how can we say “my religion”, “my God” or “my discovery”?
These productions are created in a beautiful and understandable way and foster an understanding of the parallels between science and religion.

- IN-PERSON SANGHA: Movie: Inner Worlds Outer Worlds/Part 2: The SpiralUnity of Stuart, Stuart, FL
Tonight we will be viewing Part 2 of "Inner Worlds Outer Worlds" which is titled "The Spiral."
The Pythagorean philosopher Plato hinted that there was a golden key that unified all of the mysteries of the universe. Every scientist who looks deeply into the universe and every mystic who looks deeply within the self, eventually comes face to face with the same thing: The Primordial Spiral. The wheel of Dharma also recalls the spiral, which represents the law of the universe and the path to enlightenment.

- IN-PERSON SANGHA: Movie: Inner Worlds Outer Worlds/Part 3: The Serpent & LotusUnity of Stuart, Stuart, FL
Tonight we will be viewing Part 3 of "Inner Worlds Outer Worlds" which is titled "The Serpent and the Lotus."
Science and spirituality are not separate; they intertwine beautifully. Our human quest for knowledge in this external world is beautifully counterbalanced by an inner awareness of life's impermanence and a deep, intuitive understanding of the cycle of change.
We possess the ability to perceive the concept of existence, yet often, our racing thoughts cloud this vision. Rediscovering this forgotten wisdom is the key to harmonizing our inner selves with the outer world—embracing the Yin and Yang that reflect the duality of human nature.
In our journey, we’ve distanced ourselves from the inner wisdom that connects us to Akasha—the source of all knowledge. We are the universe experiencing itself, yet most do not nurture this connection. Everything is one, connected to and dependent on the other - understanding this would help us see reality as it truly is.
Buddhism and science find commonality in their perspectives on reality. Both stress the transient nature of existence, highlight the interconnectedness of all phenomena, and underscore the significance of observing and comprehending the world in its true form.
