Swarthmore Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book Club

For October we're reading Wool by Hugh Howey. This was originally a short story that became unexpectedly popular, prompting the author to write four more stories. This would eventually be published as one book called The Wool Omnibus. Now you'll likely find all 5 together in one book that's just called Wool again, and saying it's book 1 of the Silo series. To be sure you're getting the right one, just make sure it's closer to 500 pages and not 50.

The Silo trilogy is the basis for the AppleTV series of the same name.

We're continuing our exploration of memories and identity in November with The Binding by Bridget Collins. While this was her first novel for adults, she has since written two more. Before that, she wrote under the name B.R. Collins, creating seven books for young adults. She is a trained actor, has had two plays produced, and studied English at King's College.

(Also, from a "judging books by the cover" standpoint, whoever designs her book covers and limited edition hardbacks does beautiful work. All three of her adult novels are gorgeous.)

Summary:
