The Edinburgh Photography Meetup Group

An opportunity for those under 30 yrs old to get together and discuss all things photography with their peers! Absolute beginners and novices are welcome. The assignment for this one will be street photography, around waverley station and Princes Street for a couple of hours, before meeting back at either Starbucks or Costa to discuss our shots and give each other advice!

I'll also be organising events for all in the future, this is just a great opportunity for new members to get to know others their age and socialise!

For those over 30 we will not be checking IDs but we are trying to encourage younger members to join and we will get all ages together in the future.

Photographic Sprints - a new topic every twenty minutes

In this event you will get a subject or topic at the start which you should photograph for the first 20minutes whilst on your way to the second meeting point, where you will be given your next topic for the next 20minutes ...and so on! We should get through a handful of different subjects/topics across the Meetup.

We'll start on the steps outside the National Museum of Scotland on Chamber St. I'll let you know where we will end up a few days before the Meetup and we can find a nearby bar for a drink.

THIS IS NOT AN EVENT AS SUCH, hence the end date, just ANNOUNCEMENTS regarding our photo hanging space in the Leith Community Centre for the next few months.
30 January, the current ‘Leith’ exhibition must come down. This was a great success. Many people visited it and loved it. Last week there was a launch of the book Sea Change, an Anthology of Leith writing. The opening took place in the ‘cafeteria’ space. People who attended enjoyed our pictures very much.
From 30 January onwards the panels will be used as a free for all exhibition for the EPMG. Members can bring some of their pictures, whatever format they wish, and hang them (bring pins) on the boards. Pictures of Leith would be appreciated but any topic will be fine. Please make sure that your pictures are appropriate to be viewed by everyone. I have asked the staff of the LCC to take down any picture that they consider inappropriate.
Feel free to come and hang your work as often as you wish. The hanging space is yours to use.
Then at the end of March/beginning of April this exhibition will end, to be replaced by our THE PROJECT exhibition. See the announcement on the topic of THE PROJECT. Details will be posted in due course.
