Join Randy when he returns from his Yosemite hiking trip for an easy 4 mile out-and-back hike along the paved Carquinez Scenic Trail in Martinez, with only about 250ft total elevation gain.
The hike will take place along a previously abandoned roadway that was rehabilitated into a walking trail, and is now part of the SF Bay Trail. It runs along a high bluff overlooking the Carquinez Strait and provides a bird’s-eye view of the ships and trains passing through. If we’re lucky, we might also catch a glimpse of an Osprey or other hawk riding the winds above. Parking is free. Dogs are allowed. There is a restroom at the hike starting point.
