The Sweeps Hiking Group

Join Randy on a scenic Spring wildflower hike through the beautiful Crockett hills, with gorgeous views of San Pablo Bay, the Carquinez Strait, Mount Tamalpais, and Mount Diablo. It's a 5+ mile figure eight loop with about 650ft elevation gain. Park at the Crockett Hills Trailhead parking area off of Crockett Blvd. Bring a lunch for the picnic table at the hike half way point (or just a snack if you want to join Randy at Lucia's Craft Sandwiches in old town Crockett for his ritual, gourmet grilled 4-cheese sandwich). Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join on a leash. Bring poles, water and good hiking shoes. Check the MeetUp Posting before leaving for the hike if it looks like rain.

We will hike at an average to slower pace (25-30 mins per mile) so we can enjoy the experience while we get the heart pumping. Please update your RSVP if you cannot attend, so as many people as possible can enjoy this hike.

Hi Sweeps. Join Randy in Black Diamond Regional Park for a scenic hike along the Stewartsville and Star Mine Trails. This is a good, mud free, all weather hike, and we are sure to see some wildflowers. This hike is about 5 miles, with a gradual elevation gain of less than 600 feet. We will stop for lunch at about the hike half way point.

There is no restroom at the hike starting point, but there is a restroom at the mid point lunch stop on the hike. There is no parking fee. Friendly dogs on a leash are welcome on this hike.
