What we’re about

Our main goal/ mission is to explore as many wonderful hikes/ snowshoe trails, snowboarding, skiing, hut trips, camping, backpacking, spelunking, canyoneering, etc.,as well as general socializing, restaurants/pubs/taverns as possible in a safe and responsible manner, so that members can get a greater sense of all that Colorado has to offer and enjoy. Some of these we have experienced before, but many will be new to us as well.

Bluffs Regional Park, Denver, CO
We will meet at the covered gazebo to do a quick circle of introductions and have a leisurely social hike to catch up on our week and meet some new friends along with old friends on a weekly basis!!!

Popular trail offering views of Denver, the Front Range and wildlife. Bluffs Regional Park Trail is a 2.8 mile loop trail located in Lone Tree that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. Two overlooks add about a half-mile each. Minimal elevation gain. Dog friendly, on-leash.

We can go longer than the 2.8 miles to visit Lonehenge, aka the stone benches, which adds about 1.6 miles to the hike.

Hopefully we’ll catch an amazing sunset!!

Afterwards, we’ll head over to Clock Tower Grill. They have a great happy hour food/drink menu until 7 pm. Nice covered patio. We celebrate birthdays! Let us know, and we’ll get a slice of their awesome Oreo Ice Cream Cake to share!

Join me for a walk around one of Denver’s best parks, Washington Park.

We walk every week!

We’ll meet at Que Bueno Suerte at 6:30pm (it’s always 6:30pm even if meetup says different) and walk over to the park. We will meet in front 1518 S Pearl St, Denver, CO 80210.

We’ll walk around the park one time and return to South Pearl. Total round trip is about 3.5 miles. *if you have reflective gear or lights, please wear it. It's getting dark out earlier and earlier. It will help with lighting the path and also making us visible to cars.

Walkers who want to have Tacos can go to Que Bueno Suerte for delicous tacos. They always have a taco tuesday special.
If you choose to stay for tacos, please be prepared to order food or drink and tip our servers.

The feedback from the group has been to walk or at least get talk-o's every week no matter the weather. #coloradostyle
Some important things to note:

Remember the golden rule folks. Treating others with kindness, respect, honesty, patience, and curiosity is important.

We share the golden rule with folks not in our group by sharing the trail in the park. Please walk in two’s so that our non- walk- talk-o people have plenty of space on the trail too. If somehow someone forgets and starts walking in 3 or 4 across, say we’ll remind each other kindly. Say "Taco” and squeeze in so that the person can get by us easily.

Please pay attention to oncoming pedestrians and pedestrians behind us. Please squeeze in to the right when you see them, leaving them plenty of room to pass. We want everyone to enjoy the trail (including folks not in our group) - and not have to dodge our group. Let’s remind each other to “taco" not "tostada."

We love fur-babies. Before bringing them consider whether your dog is great on leash, behaves well in a crowd, can keep up with our pace, and will distract or add to our group members’ experience.

You must RSVP This is for safety. If for some reason you can’t RSVP, the group leader will take your picture and of your ID and send it to the other group leaders. It’s up to the group leader if you can participate.

We are a community of people who want to learn more about Wine and Wealth. In a casual and relaxed environment, each month we will learn about a new topic inspired by our community presented by local experts.
When: Wednesday January 22nd from 6PM-8PM.
Our Wine Topic : Together we'll blind wine taste wines selected by Sommelier Troy Bowen. We are going through the classic wine profiles to find wines that are similar and perhaps more accessible. We'll dive deep into Wine Tasting Do's and Don't's, Varietals, Wine Characteristics, and Production. We'll blind taste, discuss, and then uncover the wines. The experience is lighthearted with the goal of learning about wine that will help us all enjoy wine on a deeper level.
Our Wealth Topic: Interview a mortgage loan officer! It's time to de-mystify one of the processes that scares so many people. Many people may only own one home. And, others have goals to be an Airbnb Queen or King. How often do you get to just get all of the real answers you've been curious to know. I will have some excellent questions available for us to discuss, and I know that there are plenty of questions out there so there will be a hot-mic in the crowd for any of your questions.

Join us for our 1st Snowshoe Race. A free race, so limited spots upon registration. We will meet before the race for a group pic and intros.

About the Event
The race is intended to be a difficult and fun backcountry event; any and all plans can change due to trail conditions for the runner’s safety. Snowshoes will be required unless the race director chooses to change the requirements due to trail conditions. All racers are required to carry 20 ounces of liquid and 600 calories of nutrition. Be Safe and Leave No Trace.

Race start/finish at the South Sourdough Trailhead near the University of Colorado Mountain Research Station off the Peak to Peak Highway CO 72 on County Road 116. Race begins at 8:30 am.

Racers begin from the South Sourdough Trailhead parking lot (start line) head north on the trail to Brainard Lake Road. There, the 18K racers will turn around at Brainard Lake Road and return to the South Sourdough Trailhead (finish line).

For those interested in the 30K, racers will continue across Brainard Lake Road following the Sourdough Trail loop and returning back to Brainard Lake Road and then on to the South Sourdough Trailhead (finish line). Note: if you are running the 30K, the cutoff to Brainard Lake Rd is 11:30 AM. If you reach there after 11:30 AM please turn around with the 18K runners. This is for safety. There is no cell service out here, it's cold and gets dark fast. They want everyone back at the Start/Finish in time. You will not be disqualified, you will just be listed as an 18K runner instead of a 30K runner for finishing times.

There will be an aid station at the Brainard Lake turnaround. It will have hot tea and granola bars. This event is free because of the generous donations they get from their runners.

There is, at best, spotty cell phone service in Nederland. Please put the address to the trailhead into your direction-finder before you leave in the morning so you will know where to find them.

We are not trained leaders, and by going on the event, you agree that you are responsible for your own safety and absolve us of any liability and have read the entire event description.

Please only sign-up if you definitely plan to join and update your RSVP as soon as your plans change. IF plans change within 3 days of the event, must communicate in the event comments or via messenger for common courtesy and future events, thanks!
