Day 4 Monday 28th October
Rising early, at 8am we journey to the enigmatic and enchanting temple of Bayon. By beginning our tour here we can avoid the crowds and see the temple at its quietest. Located at the exact centre of Angkor Thom, this temple is an eccentric expression of the creative genius and inflated ego of Cambodia’s most celebrated king.We continue amongst the walled city of Angkor Thom; the masterpiece of King Jayavarman VII. Within Angkor Thom, our next stop is the Terrace of the Leper King. This intricately carved platform was the royal crematorium and the statue that was originally thought to be the leper king is now believed to be Yama, the god of death. We continue along the Terrace of Elephants, originally used as a viewing gallery for the king to preside over parades, performances and traditional sports.
We then move on next to the Mother of all temples, Angkor Wat; believed to be the world's largest religious building.
The final steps to the upper terrace of Angkor are the steepest of all, as pilgrims of old were to stoop on their pilgrimage to encounter the Gods. We finally reach the pinnacle and sacred heart of Angkor Wat. We then continue on to the Ta Prohm temple, a structure which has been abandoned to the elements. The temple serves as a powerful reminder that while empires rise and fall, the riotous power of nature marches on, oblivious to the dramas of human history. Left as it was ‘discovered’ by French explorer Henri Mouhot in 1860, the tentacle-like tree roots here are slowly strangling the surviving stones that man first conquered nature to create.Late lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to our final temple – Banteay Kdei. After the tour, we will transfer back to our hotel.
Meals Included; Breakfast
Day 5 Tuesday 29th October
Free Day.
In the evening you will then marvel at the fantastic Cambodian circus, which is a mixture of acrobatics, music, dance and culture. They have provided the platform for young Cambodians to develop their skills and now their show has blown guests away all over the world.Day 6 Wednesday 30th October

Day 3. Sunday 3rd November
I have decided not to overload this trip with excursions as I am aware that the Travel Buddies that this type of trip appeals to will probably wish to spend a good amount of their time relaxing, being pampered and enjoying the peace and quiet and lush scenery. However, I have included a couple of activities that I hope will appeal to everyone and will have lots of information on what is available to do and see during our stay so trips can be booked whilst we are there.Dinner will be booked for the group most nights at local restaurants that are reasonable priced and serve traditional foods. The days where we have activities planned and get back to the hotel late, we can eat at the onsite restaurants or those that would prefer to venture out can do so. The food that we have had in the hotels and outside at other restaurants has been superb.
UBUD
Ubud is a far cry from the traditional tourist towns that make up the other hot spots on the island. Most of the people visiting Ubud do so because they want to immerse themselves in Balinese culture and the natural beauty of the island.Today we will head off after a leisurely breakfast for a guided day trip.
First we will visit Ulun Danu Bratan Temple (the temple of the royal family) Next is a leisurely drive through small villages, bamboo jungles and the spectacular terraced rice fields of Jatiluwih . These rice fields are beautiful enough to have been placed as a potential UNESCO world heritage site. There will be a stop during the day for lunch looking over the rice terraces
(not included). We next visit Taman Ayun and the last stop of the day is Tanah Lot which is one of Bali's most famous temples just in time to watch the sunset before being dropped back at the hotel at around 8pm.
Day 4. Monday 4th November
Today we will be taking a morning walk to the Monkey Park, it is well worth a visit although keep anything shiny in your bag or it might get pinched by a monkey! Entrance is a couple of pounds. There is lots to see in Ubud locally to the hotel, small museums and galleries, craft stalls that sell handmade goods and there is also a vast array of spas offering pampering treatments.
The pool area at the hotel is set amongst lush gardens so it might be a job to tear yourself away...
Dinner locally.
Day 5. Tuesday 5th November
Balinese spirituality is a big draw for the town of Ubud, so it shouldn't be surprising that many people who come to the region do so in order to learn some of the local yoga and meditation techniques. The yoga Barn in Ubud is a centre dedicated to healing and renewal and has over 15 classes a day that you can sign up too. They are reasonably priced and start from around £8.50 per class. The mosaic of daily classes and workshops include Yin, Acro, Classical Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Power, Yoga with Weights, Iyengar, Anusara Inspired, Tai Chi, and for those who are looking for relaxation, there is Gong Bath, Tibetan Bowls, Sound Healing, Restorative Yoga, Pranayama, Meditation and more.....
Take a look here for more information http://www.theyogabarn.com/ It looks amazing!
Those that would like to try a class will head here this morning, even if you have never tried yoga before it is a fantastic experience and there are classes for all levels. Gurus come from all over the world to teach classes here.
Rest of the day to relax.
Dinner Locally.
Day 6. Wednesday 6th November
After breakfast today we are off to explore some different areas on the island, first with a visit to Pura Ulan Danu Bratan, a 17th Century water temple that was built in honour of a lake goddess, the journey time is around 1 hour, entrance fee is not included. Our next stops are Coffee and Spice plantations in the Island where we can learn about the process involved in their cultivation and have the chance to try and even buy some ourselves.
Next we travel to the heart of the mount Batur caldera, to visit the Hot Springs. Heated deep within the earth, minerals from the colourless and odourless hot spring bring healing and curative powers. We have time to relax here, to enjoy the hot springs with the stunning mountain backdrop....
There is a bar and restaurant at the resort so we can get something to eat and drink as we please.
Return back to the hotel for our last evening in Ubud.
Day 7. Thursday 7th November
This morning after a leisurely breakfast we will say goodbye to Ubud and take a private transfer to southern Bali where we will be staying for 5 nights in Seminyak at the 4* "Amadea Resort" It features a spa and outdoor pool, and the rooms all come with flat-screen TVs. Breakfast is included each morning.Day 8. Friday 8th November
Day as we pleasePerhaps a stroll to the beach if you don't fancy the pool today...
In the evenings we can head on out down to the beach and spend time relaxing at the array of superb bars and restaurants dotted along the ocean front.

Not open - CUBA 12 Nights. Havana, Vinales, Trinidad, Santa Clara & Varadero.London Gatwick Airport, Gatwick£1,495.00
Cuba is one of the most beguiling travel destinations on the planet. Gorgeous neo classical buildings, classic American cars, the best music and dance on the planet and super friendly locals put Cuba firmly on everyone’s bucket list. We will be spending four nights Havana, two nights in Viñales, three nights in Trinidad, a night in Santa Clara and to end, a two night all inclusive stay in Varadero. This trip is filled with fantastic excursions and also allows us time to relax and really experience Cuba at our own pace too.
Day 1. Saturday 9th November
Upon arrival in Havana we will take a private transfer to our Casa Particulares in the heart of Old Havana. The neighbourhood is very safe and walkable and we have a Cuban guide throughout the tour until we reach Varadero.
Throughout our stay (except for the last 2 nights) we will be staying in Casa Particulares – government regulated but privately owned and operated guesthouses. They are all very centrally located, clean with air conditioning and en suite/private bathrooms.
We will be sharing twin rooms and breakfast is included each morning. There is the option to have a room to yourself throughout the tour for a supplement of £220.
After settling in we will head out for a light supper (included) in a nearby bar with live salsa band.
The Travel Buddies trips work on the basis that as long as you are having a good time then that is what matters, if you don't feel like coming on one of the excursions or joining the rest of the group for dinner one evening then that is absolutely fine. This is an adventure for everyone and there is nothing worse than having to go somewhere/do something that you don't really fancy!
Meals. B, D
Day 2. Sunday 10th November
After breakfast we enjoy a full day walking tour with lots of breaks and diversions to start to understand and enjoy Havana and her history and culture. Our walk will feature the beautifully preserved colonial plazas of Habana Vieja and neighbouring streets where Cubans live alongside visiting tourists, kids go to school, locals play games of chess or chequers in the street, sipping coffee from 'peso cafes'.We also take a tour of the city in an open top convertible classic car for an hour, cruise along the Malecon to Plaza de la Revolucion and under the harbour to Fort del Moro for spectacular views back across the city. It just has to be done when in Cuba!
Dinner locally
Meals. B
Day 3. Monday 11th November
We have a free morning today to explore the sites such as Fusterlandia (an ever evolving mosaic based art installation) or Hemmingway’s Havana home. After lunch we meet up for a shopping trip to source wholesome ingredients for a home cooked dinner. This is an opportunity to find
out about some of the day to day challenges Cubans face, exacerbated by the embargo imposed by their nearest neighbour. The government provides all Cuban families with a ration card so everybody has equal access to the ‘basics’. The good news is that Cuba has an abundance of locally grown, generally organic, fresh vegetables and fruit!
Early evening we enjoy some refreshments and our home cooked dinner with option to continue to one of many neighbourhood
bars afterwards.Meals. B,D
Day 4 Tuesday 12th November
Today is ours to do as we please, our guide will be there to advise us according to how we want to spend the day.Late afternoon we change into fresh clothes for a Salsa lesson at the famous 'Casa del Son' close to where we are staying.
From beginner to advanced our dance instructor will take us through our paces and build our confidence and enjoyment of this amazing dance so beloved of Cubans. It’s our last night in Havana and we need to get the basics right before heading to a salsa club after dinner!Meals. B
Day 5 Wednesday 13th November
After breakfast we take a three hour drive west to Viñales, A UNESCO World Heritage destination in its own right owing to spectacular Karsc mountains and distinctive tobacco drying houses. After lunch we explore the Vinales valley on horseback, through a part of the village lost in time, lush plantations of beans, maize and of course, tobacco. We stop at a classic tobacco drying house and learn about the art of curing tobacco and hand rolling cigars. You can even have a go at rolling your own!
We head back to Vinales as the sun goes down and have dinner locally.
Horseback is really the best way to see this area of Cuba but if you prefer, a walking tour or taxi can be arranged instead.
Meals B
Day 6 Thursday 14th November
Free day but lots of optional activities including sunrise hike, and guided excursions to the ‘pre-history mural’ and ‘Cueva del Indio’.Our Cuban guide and local hosts will be on hand with suggestions.

terracotta rooftops and pastel coloured houses.Check in to our Casas and have dinner locally

biking, walking or taxi instead of horseback if you’d prefer - no extra charge – and all options are accompanied by a guide.) We will ride
through the cobbled streets of Trinidad and into the rolling countryside. We take a short hike along the scenic river with lots of opportunities for spotting birds and flora along the way as well as a grotto and waterfall, where we can swim through the waterfall and into the cave behind for a magical experience. After some chill time and a picnic lunch (included) we ride back to the Casas and spend the evening locally.

Leaving the south coast we now head north direction Varadero. However, along the way we break our journey by spending a night in Santa Clara to soak up the atmosphere of this simple town made famous by an audacious victory during the revolution as Che Guevara and Cienfuegos tipped the course of the war in their favour by derailing a rail car bristling with soldiers and ammunition sent from Havana to subdue the revolution. We will pay a visit to Che’s mausoleum and a museum commemorating his life, along with the famous armored train.
