A most wonderful 12 mile hilly and undulating walk that starts by the River Wey and then offers spectacular views from atop iconic St Martha's Church on the North Downs.
We will stop at a cafe after 5 miles where there are toilets. After that it will be woodland facilities only. There will be a second stop at around the 9 to 10 mile mark.
Walk is being led by Alex as Steven is in Ireland.
Please arrive by 10am to buy group train tickets for the train at 10.30am that arrives at Guildford at 11.02am. For those wishing to get a group ticket, you will need 3 or more people and you will all need to return to London on the same train.
Train ticket : Return to Gomshall via Guildford
Or you may decide to drive.
Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes/boots/trainers.
The walk shall start by 11.15am.
You should be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour and have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity.
At the end of the walk drinks at the fabulous Compasses Inn.
We will aim to get to Gomshall station in time to catch the 5.31pm that arrives in Waterloo at 6.43pm after changing at Guildford. Thereafter trains to Guildford depart hourly for those who would prefer to go for a drink before heading home.
