Weekday Walks - walking, hiking London

A most wonderful 9 to 10 mile walk taking in the glorious countryside as well as Aldenham Country Park, its beautiful reservoir, Elstree Airfield and lunch at delightful Letchmore Heath.

Using our Oyster Cards we shall take the Thameslink train at 9.33am that stops at West Hampstead at 9.44am, Mill Hill Bway at 9.53am and Radlett at 10.01am.

Or you may decide to drive.

The walk shall commence by 10.15am from Radlett train station.

Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking boots /walking shoes/trainers.

Meetup fee £5 payable in cash or by bank transfer in advance.

We shall have a drink around lunchtime and maybe a coffee at the end of the walk.

The train back to London shall be from Elstree & Borehamwood train station.

A truly wonderful day out !

After meeting under the clock near platforms 11 and 12 at Waterloo we shall take the 10.12am direct train to Wimbledon that arrives at 10.28am using our oystercards or one day all zone travelcards.

We shall then walk at 10.40am up to delightful Wimbledon Common and then onto Isabella Plantation in nearby Richmond Park and enjoy the fantasyland appeal of the rosadendrums and azaleas all in full blossom.

We shall then walk through the rest of the park and resume the Thames Path by way of Petersham Meadow and then walk back to Richmond where we shall have a coffee.

Things to bring : packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes/boots/ trainers.

A most wonderful 7 mile circular walk through taking in the delightful centuries old buildings of Old Amersham, Shardeloes Lake, River Misbourne, Little Missenden and its historic church resplendent with stained glass windows and beautiful woodland on the return to Amersham.

Using your oyster card you can either take the 10.57am overland train from Marylebone railway station that arrives at Amersham train station at 11.32am, or take the Met Line passing through Baker Street or you may drive to Amersham and park very near the station.

The walk shall commence by 11.45am.

Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes/boots/trainers plus sunhat, suncream and sunglasses.

You should be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour and have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity.

We stop by a pub for lunch in Great Missenden and then visit the historic church.

A truly wonderful 8 to 9 mile walk in the glorious East Sussex countryside by woodlands and the Uck river.

We shall buy group return train tickets at around 9.30am for the train at 10.07am that arrives at Uckfield at 11.22pm.

Or you may decide to drive.

Please bring packed lunch , water, snacks etc, waterproof jacket and walking shoes or trainers plus sunhat, suncream and sunglasses.

You should have adequate insurance for this type of activity and be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour.

We shall aim to take the train back to London from Uckfield at 4.33pm.
