Come experience winter outside with us. We will snowshoe if there is enough snow, otherwise we will hike. Washington County Parks will have snowshoes for us to use. All abilities are welcome.
The hiking/walking options include a dirt trail around Eagle Point Lake and a paved path through the park. If you will be joining us on the dirt trail, please wear sturdy books that could get muddy depending on trail conditions.
Don't Have Snowshoes?
If you would like to use one of the park's snowshoes, please message Deb Kuehne in Meetup message (chat icon in the upper right corner). The first 18 to respond will have a pair to use for the event.
New To Snowshoeing?
After getting our shoes on, a shorter hike (approximately 30 mins) is planned for those who would like to try but do not want a longer hike.
Have Your Own Snowshoes and Want To Go On a Longer Hike?
Bring your own snowshoes and we will head out on the Eagle Point Lake trail across the street from the Nordic Center (a 3.8 mile loop with an option to turn back for a shorter hike).
What to Wear
Please dress for outdoor winter activity. Wear snow boots with warm socks. Dress in layers, wicking base layer, warmth layer and outer wind/water resistant layer. Wear a warm hat and gloves/mittens.
What To Bring
If you have hiking or ski poles you may want to bring them for additional balance.
Cancellation
The event may be cancelled if weather or road conditions are dangerous. Any cancellation will be sent through Meetup.
Note: Washington County Parks are free on the 1st Tuesday of the month. You may enter the park without a daily or annual county park permit.
