You are invited to join us for a moderate 10-mile hike with 1500 to 2000 feet elevation gain. This hike will take about 6 hours.
We will meet at 22 Bradley Road, Weston, CT 06883 (Approx). GPS: 41.245342, -73.342392 for a prompt 8:15 AM departure. The parking area gets crowded, and we want to try to beat the crowd. Group size will be limited.
There are a variety of trails at Trout Brook, including carriage trails, narrow hiking trails, hills and flats. We will generally be walking around the perimeter of the preserve and cut through on some interior trails to increase mileage and elevation. The trails are color coded. There may be muddy or wet areas if there has been rain.

Please join me on this Unique hike which to my knowledge has never been offered by any meetup group in the world!
Thanks to an old friend and colleague, I was able to secure parking at the Union Church on Saturday, April 19th for the Union Church's open house self-guided tour. 'In this unassuming Hudson Valley church, two of the greatest artists of the twentieth century – Henri Matisse and Marc Chagall – combined to create one of the most breathtaking and unexpected sanctuaries of stained glass windows in the world."

We will meet in the parking lot of the church at 10:00am. We will check out the windows and the church. At 10:45, we will hit the Rockefeller State Park trails and explore the Buttermilk Hill section of the park. This area has some of the oldest carriage trails in the park. Then we will head back to the parking lot at the church.
I will post the actual mileage later in the week, but plan to hike around 5.5 - 6.5 miles. Please be sure you are up for the mileage and elevation of this hike. We will hike at a moderate rate with stops as necessary so people can regroup. We will take a longer lunch break at the dam.
Due to the parking and group size restrictions in the church, this hike is limited to 25 people.
There is a $10 charge for the window tour. You will pay in-person at the church.
Please give me a call if you have any questions.
