This is a paid workshop, please don't RSVP until you have registered at https://www.lorenphotos.com/product/indoor-series/
When the weather turns colder and the trees are bare it isn’t always as much fun to get out to make pictures and many people lose their photo mojo over the winter. You can keep your skills sharp or learn new ones with a specially designed workshop series you can do in the comfort of your home. Plus you'll get feedback on your shots.
In this four session series, professional photographer Loren Fisher will give you fun assignments that keep you thinking about your camera settings, composition and photography in general while staying warm and safe indoors. Each session is via Zoom and will be recorded so you can watch later if you can’t make a live session.
This year's workshop is focused on composition and how little things can make your photos better. Loren is a huge believer that most photos need a strong center of interest, when he has a weak photo it usually has a weak or no center of interest. We'll talk about the difference between subject and center of interest and then we'll have assignments that help you recognize your center of interest and how to make it stand out.
We'll also have some just fun assignments like using a plastic bag and Vaseline over your lens to give you a special effect and we'll do some light graffiti. We'll shoot through glass and water and see what happens. I'll show you how simple lighting can make a huge difference in your photos and then you'll give it a try.
If you did this workshop any of the previous years, you don't need to worry about it being duplicative, everything we are doing is new.
During each session we’ll talk about fun things you can shoot in your house and techniques you can use to make unique photos. The techniques you practice indoors can then be applied when you are outside shooting.
You’ll have two weeks to complete an assignment, really it’s just a topic and suggestion of things to photograph around your home. After you complete each assignment, you’ll upload one or two photos and get feedback during the next session. This isn’t a photo contest, getting feedback can be scary but it is a great way to expand your skills and it is a lot of fun to see what others did for their assignment.
Each session lasts two hours, it doesn’t matter your skill level, there will be beginners to advanced photographers. You can use anything from a cell phone camera to the most advanced mirrorless.
After you register you'll receive an immediate confirmation which will contain the Zoom link.

- Florida Spring Bird Photography WorkshopWest Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, FL
Spring in Florida is a special time of year, for people and also for wildlife. Birds are thinking about love more than food and they exhibit breeding plumage that generates wild colors. Their focus is on finding a mate, so it a great opportunity for us to get a close view of them while they aren't as concerned about people.
Join professional photographers Loren Fisher and explore southern Florida and make unique bird photos along with photographing the beauty of the region.
We will start and end our adventure on the East Coast in West Palm Beach. We'll travel through the Everglades and go the West Coast in Ft. Myers and then back to West Palm Beach. We will be photographing mostly in natural areas and in parks and refuges, like Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island, Big Cypress, Everglades National Park, Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge plus many special locations.
Long-time professional photographer Loren Fisher will give you personal attention and show you how to take your photography to a higher level, whether you are a beginner or experienced photographer. You will learn about light, composition and seeing angles and perspectives. We will do our traveling at mid-day, when the light isn't ideal for photography.
Since the best light of the day is early and late, we will be out shooting before sunrise (around 7:15 a.m.) and get done each day after sunset around 7:30 p.m. They will be action packed days and we will be on the go but also take the time to get the shots we want at each special location.Where:

Starting Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 4 p.m. through Friday, April 4 at noon.Who should attend:

Equipment needed:
A digital camera (and your owners manual if you don’t know what all the buttons do) and a sturdy tripod is recommended. For bird photography, you should have a 200mm lens or longer. If you don't have a larger lens, you might consider renting one (the photos on this page were shot with a 200mm to 500mm and cropped very little). Most locations require very little walking, so don't leave gear at home. Optional equipment: remote release cable for your camera; polarizing filter; rain protection (you never know), hiking boots (we won’t be doing any serious hiking but we will be on short trails and in fields that may be uneven or wet) and whatever footwear you like on the beach. This is a paid workshop, please don't RSVP until you register.
