We're reading The Dead in Their Vaulted Arches by Alan Bradley. It's a Flavia de Luce cozy mystery.
Amazon says: On a spring morning in 1951, eleven-year-old chemist and aspiring detective Flavia de Luce gathers with her family at the railway station, awaiting the return of her long-lost mother, Harriet. Yet upon the train’s arrival in the English village of Bishop’s Lacey, Flavia is approached by a tall stranger who whispers a cryptic message into her ear. Moments later, he is dead, mysteriously pushed under the train by someone in the crowd. Who was this man, what did his words mean, and why were they intended for Flavia? Back home at Buckshaw, the de Luces’ crumbling estate, Flavia puts her sleuthing skills to the test. Following a trail of clues sparked by the discovery of a reel of film stashed away in the attic, she unravels the deepest secrets of the de Luce clan, involving none other than Winston Churchill himself. Surrounded by family, friends, and a famous pathologist from the Home Office—and making spectacular use of Harriet’s beloved Gipsy Moth plane, Blithe Spirit—Flavia will do anything, even take to the skies, to land a killer.
When we're finished discussing the book we'll play Jeopardy with answers from the book. You come up with the correct questions. If you don't feel like playing it's ok. It's fun to watch our very competitve members play to win a prize. - A Cozy Death Book Club: Meeting and Discussion GroupLink visible for attendees

We are so lucky! Heather Weidner is coming to speak to our group on Zoom. We're reading any of her books. She's written The Pearly Girls Mystery series, The Jules Keene Glamping Mysteries, The Mermaid Bay Christmas Shoppe Mysteries, The Delanie Fitzgerald Mysteries, and the Deadly Southern Charm series.
Amazon's review of Deadlines and Valentines: A Jules Keene Glamping Mystery says:
***
Fern Valley, nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, is ground zero for all things romance. The town has pulled out all the stops for the first Valentine’s Day “Love is in the Air” Book Festival with events like Death by Chocolate, author speed-dating, a character masquerade, and a male cover model fashion show.
Everything is candy and roses until the sparks start to fly. Jules Keene and her team at the glamping resort spend their time trying to tamp down fiery tempers because opposites may not always attract.
When a popular author with a heart of gold is found murdered in the barn at the resort, Jules has to find the culprit before more than just hearts are broken.
Of the Delanie Fitzgerald books Amazon says about The tulip Shirt Murders:
The Tulip Shirt Murders (Delanie Fitzgerald Mysteries) Paperback –***
Private investigator Delanie Fitzgerald and her computer hacker partner, Duncan Reynolds, are back for more sleuthing in The Tulip Shirt Murders. When a music producer hires the duo to find out who is bootlegging his artists' CDs, Delanie uncovers more than just copyright thieves. And if chasing bootleggers isn't bad enough, local strip club owner and resident sleaze, Chaz Smith, pops back into Delanie's life with more requests. The police have their man in a gruesome murder, but the loud-mouthed strip club owner thinks there is more to the open and shut case. Delanie and Duncan link a series of killings with no common threads. And they must put the rest of the missing pieces together before someone else is murdered.
The Tulip Shirt Murders is a fast-paced mystery that appeals to readers who like a strong female sleuth with a knack for getting herself in and out of humorous situations such as larping and trading elbow jabs with roller derby queens.I can't wait to meet Heather and get to hear how she gets her ideas and chooses what series to work on. This will be an exciting meeting. Read one of her books and get your questions ready!
