Active Pups and People

BACK TO 5:30PM START TIME. Casual walk to stretch out the legs for both your and your pups after a long day at work (or snoozing in bed). This pack walk welcomes dogs with various temperaments including mild dog reactivity for you as an owner to work on advocating for your dog's space and boundaries while helping them build confidence around other dogs. We ask that if you have a mildly reactive dog, you can attend if you have already done some level of reactivity and neutrality training with them so you have the tools and techniques to practice on your dog.

We will start at main Quad building at Lick Mill Park facing Lick Mill Blvd - (limited parking in the lot, street parking on Lick Mill Blvd is available). We will then cross over into Ulistac Natural Area, then onto Guadalupe River Trail and then back along Lick Mill Blvd. Expect ~60min walk with flexibility for pups and people to end early or walk on for longer.

LIMIT of 12 people plus their dogs. Please note, we are not dog trainers and if you have a HIGHLY reactive dog to either people or other dogs please do NOT attend this event.

WARNINGS and DISCLAIMERS

• Dogs must be on-leash (6 foot of less) at all times. Please abide by park rules.
• All owners are solely responsible for their own dogs and must have full control of them. This includes, but not limited to controlling and preventing any adverse behaviors such as lunging, attacking, or biting other people or dogs.
• If your dog is untrained and is highly reactive to other people or other dogs, do NOT attend this events
• If you feel sick or have any cold/flu/COVID-19 symptoms do NOT attend this event
• If you have any preexisting health condition that puts you at risk when doing exercise please do NOT attend this event

Casual neighborhood dog walk to stretch our legs and get outside. This pack walk welcomes dogs with various temperaments including mild dog reactivity so that you can work on advocating for your dog's space and boundaries while helping them build confidence around other dogs. We ask that if you have a mildly reactive dog, only attend if you have already done some level of reactivity and neutrality training with them so you have the tools and techniques to practice on your dog.

We will start at the intersection of Eggers Dr and Glenmoor Dr (limited street parking is available). We will then loop through the surrounding neighborhood for about 2mi. Expect to walk for 45min with flexibility for pups and people to end early or walk on for longer. We will stop at each intersection before crossing the street- this can be a good time to work on attention/distraction training with your dog(s).

Event: Engineers and Dogs Hike Meetup

ASME Santa Clara Valley Section is calling all engineers and their furry friends! Join us for a fun, casual hike where engineers and dog lovers can connect, network, and enjoy the great outdoors together. Don’t have a dog or not an engineer? No problem! Everyone is welcome to join, whether you're an engineer, a dog owner, or someone who loves hiking and meeting new people.

We’ll take a scenic trail that’s dog-friendly and suited for all fitness levels. It’s a perfect opportunity to meet like-minded people, share ideas, or just have a relaxed day in nature with some adorable canine companions.

What to bring:
- Comfortable shoes
- Water for yourself and your dog
- Dog waste bags
- A leash (required for all dogs)

Details:
Meet at 3:00 pm near the bathroom located at 2698 Terminal Blvd, Palo Alto, CA 94303. We will start walking at 3:20 pm and may divide up into groups based on pace.

RSVP to let us know you’re coming. We will also be providing treats for both humans and dogs. Please comment your dog's or your allergies so we ensure everyone has something!

Easy Walk - 3 miles - mostly flat terrain. We will be doing beach and seaside walk around Twin Lakes and Seabright Beaches on the east side of Santa Cruz. We will visit the Walton lighthouse and end on Seabright beach to watch the sunset. Please bring enough water for both you and your dog.

Dog lovers that are non-owners are WELCOMED. Just bring yourself, a guest, and your love for dogs.

We will be meeting outside of Seabright Social Brewpub and start walking towards the beach. Parking is available outside at the back of this venue.
