Jason Palmer is an edtech entrepreneur, impact investor, and former Democratic presidential candidate with a long-standing focus on expanding economic opportunity through innovation. He made national headlines in the 2024 Presidential race as the first candidate to use AI in a national election and the first challenger in 44 years to win a primary contest against a sitting President, with his victory in American Samoa.
Palmer is currently a co-founder or investor in eight AI-powered startups, including Socrait, Mursion, CreatorUp, D-ID, Nativelink, Motimatic, Nexford University, and Censia, and serves as a Senior Advisor to the National Center on Education and the Economy (NCEE). He is also co-founder of TOGETHER!, a youth empowerment platform supporting causes, companies, and campaigns advancing cutting-edge, common-sense solutions.Previously, Palmer held executive and leadership roles at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Microsoft, Kaplan Education, and New Markets Venture Partners, where he helped grow and guide dozens of double-bottom-line companies that have positively impacted 72 million students and workers worldwide. As a serial entrepreneur himself, he has founded and scaled five investor-backed technology and services companies and served as a turnaround leader for three others. Palmer’s companies have collectively grown to billions in market value.
Widely recognized as a leader in the conscious capitalism movement, Palmer has served on the boards of a dozen innovative companies that blend purpose and profit. He holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Harvard Business School. A proud resident of Baltimore, Maryland, he is also a devoted father.
