Hello, I'm a local artist and sculptor with a keen interest in cemeteries.
In the Albany area we have many historic cemeteries. One at a time we will take a 2 hour walk through them. I will do research before each walk so I can highlight some of the features, graves, famous people buried, history, symbols, etc. I will send out a bulletin before each walk with some references to all who have signed up so you can read up on some of the history of each one.
I plan to do these on a monthly basis. Unfortunately no dogs because many of the cemeteries have regulations.
At each walk members of the group can propose new cemeteries to visit. Obscure ones like the old Wheeler Watson cemetery at the Huyck Preserve are fascinating. There may be limits on the size of the Meet-up because of restrictions on group size at some cemeteries.
