ALBANY DRUM CIRCLE WILL BE MEETING AT THE CROSSINGS OF COLONIE DURING THE WARMER WEATHER (EARLY SPRING, SUMMER, EARLY FALL). YOU MUST BRING A CHAIR. We will move to Honest Weight Coop as the weather turns cooler. You will not need a chair. We meet every week or two to practice, learn new rhythms and experience the joy of drumming with like-minded folks. No prior experience necessary. Our facilitator Dan Bernstein will teach the basics of drumming on a djembe, lead us in new rhythms and practice old ones. When he is not available there will be a member-led drum circle. Participants are encouraged to share what they know. Our goal is to have fun, gain proficiency and enjoy the experience of group drumming. Join us on Facebook as Albany Drum Circle where we will post videos and announcements of community drumming activities. Please join this fun and friendly group.
FEE: $10 to drop in or $25 to cover a 6-month period (April 1 - October 31, November 1 - March 31). Dues covers our Meetup fee, Dan's time and repair/replace the musical instruments Dan brings to class. Please opt to receive e-mail messages on Meetup because that's how Dan will communicate last minute changes in the schedule due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
Important that if you say you will be attending and then cannot that you change your status for the drum circle event.
Members who have not visited this site in 6 months or more will be automatically deleted.
